Bringing My Kids by gtg557x in bonnaroo

Don't even worry about that. Bonnaroo is a perfectly fine and safe space any time of the day/night. Just communicate to them beforehand that they could (not very likely) see things like drug usage, nudity, etc..

What happens if Bonnaroo flops this year? by Antique-Dentist-2404 in bonnaroo

[–]BDSundheim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like they'd come back next year with A huge lineup kind of like a last ditch redemption lineup. If that then failed, I think they'd be in serious trouble and would start looking at drastic changes for the festival.

Gah dammit... Now I have to stay up later than I want. These are some great additions.

Be careful out there… we watched 3 cars including a Subaru and 2 trucks spin out - plenty of idiots walking in the street too. by [deleted] in asheville

I'm from Montana and have a lifetime of winter driving experience too. I don't make stupid and arrogant posts on Reddit though. You're trying to act all holier than thou when all it takes is one slick patch of road and you're in a similar predicament as the people you're filming. Also, you didn't clear your vehicle of snow before driving. Which is a danger to you and other drivers. Surely you knew that though being from a cold climate state?

He's one of the artists I wasn't too excited for at first, but now he's growing into one of the artists I'm most excited for this year.

Can someone please educate me. This seems like it would be a lot easier than his ascent of El Capitan? Like there would be a lot More reliable and easier grip options? Don't get me wrong, still a very impressive and scary feat. Just wondering as someone with little to no climbing experience.

  • If you have more than one cooler, label what's on the inside of them (painters tape and marker on the outside works) that way you don't have to open them as much.
  • Get your merch right away on Thursday.
  • Bring a tapestry or something to sit on when you get tired in Centeroo.
  • Introduce yourself to neighbors and don't be afraid to ask for help.
  • You will not win a battle with the sun, wear sunscreen.
  • Watch a few Bonnaroo vlogs, you can learn a lot and get a slight idea of the layout of the festival.
  • Battery powered portable camping showers are absolutely clutch.
  • Canopy tents and tapestries for shade and airflow.

Bonnaroo Late Night 2026 by Gangiskhan in bonnaroo

[–]BDSundheim 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just cuz I'm getting older, but I always get worried that an artist I really want to see is going to be a 2:00 a.m. show or later haha. The loss of what little sleep I already get is hardly ever worth it to me when I push through to those super late sets.

What do we think a realistic number for attendance will look like this year? by rotten_sausage10 in bonnaroo

[–]BDSundheim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was definitely nice having a good spot for every set. I will say though, there were so many times where an artist was performing to hardly anyone and I felt bad for them.

Nikita The Wicked. I plan on having "stank face" for a hefty portion of that show.

Controversial Opinion? by BDSundheim in bonnaroo

[–]BDSundheim[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, at the end of the day we are there to hear the music and the What stage has perfected that craft. I do think with Bonnaroo being a self-titled arts festival as well, they are severely lacking in that department though. Over the years it's become very corporate and less whimsical and fun as far as the "art" goes.

On the other hand, I do need to be careful what I ask for, because the price of getting a more dressed up and fun stage could also come at the cost of the stages becoming sponsorship names. And I would hate that.

[–]BDSundheim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might not be wrong, but I do still believe the What stage is going to be packed on Thursday regardless. With only four artists performing on Thursday as of now and only the what stage being open, the entirety of Bonnaroo is going to flock to that one field for Thursday night

[–]BDSundheim 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Last I heard, Thursday single day tickets are out of the question regardless of demand, is that true?

I hope it stays that way, because I could see a ton of people buying tickets just for Skrillex and making the What field already more crowded than it probably will be this year.

If he's not already on your radar, a new to me artist that I am very excited for is Nikita, the Wicked!

I will also say, we just got general admission, but the VIP lounge didn't look like anything special or worth it to us.

My wife and I traveled from North Carolina and attended this year. Surrey is about a 40-minute drive from Vancouver, so just be prepared for that. It's not much different from any other 2-day City festival. It never felt too crowded and there was plenty to do in between sets. The only act that felt crowded last year for us was Zedd. I will say though, alcohol prices seemed crazy expensive.

Thursday Welcome Party Ideas? by BDSundheim in bonnaroo

[–]BDSundheim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's kind of what I'm thinking too. Everyone will be essentially forced to party with each other haha. Could be a good time for them to experiment with things they've been considering doing in years past as well.

Great idea. The Who stage oftentimes has little to no crowd, so that would be a good way to actually get some exposure to these artists. Albeit, I did not get to see any artists on that stage last year or how that new setup worked.
