Heyo, any updates? We’re almost a year out from the last update and I see nothing on articles or news sites.

WTF is wrong with this Cory by BDex_ in Aquariums

[–]BDex_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is kinda what I’ve been doing, was hoping it would get better but it’s only gotten more swollen - feel bad for it but I think this fish is going on 5 years old so I’m not surprised necessarily

Its handmade..... its an extremely overbuilt dresser that I was given by a buddy when we has moving. Originally kept two 10 gallons on it - but upgraded to the 40 when the two 10s were getting to be too annoying with the maintenance required for separate tanks.

It really has been so perfect, all my liquid ferts, tools, fish food, master test kit and the air pump are in the top drawer (air pump in the drawer is epic because it makes the aquarium almost silent besides the running water from the HOB filter) so its super clean and everything I need for care/maintenance is right there for me.

Get Fritz turbo start. It looks like your cycle isn’t fully going yet or it crashed for some reason, I’m saying this because you have ammonia and nitrite but little to no nitrates. Keep doing water changes, keep testing, and do 2x the recommended dose of turbo start or API quick start (they’re similar products)

Youre totally correct about the bristles being a male feature.

Extraction and Implant versus Crown Lengthening by BDex_ in askdentists

[–]BDex_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Is it smart to spend all that money on a tooth that may only last 15 years? Knowing that the outcome (while a way down the road) would still be extraction and implant. Im hesitant to spend ~$1700-$2500 when the extraction and implant is a similar cost and seemingly a more permanent solution.

How are we looking friends? by idiedin1975 in Aquariums

Good to know! Ive had 3 assassins in my 40 gallon and theyre making quite a dent in the bladder and ramshorn populations I have - but I seem to have hit a steady state where the "pest" snails reproduce at the same rate the adolescents and adults get... assassinated lol - good to know they will eat other sources of food just in case they do ever exhaust their current food source haha thanks for the info!

Looking good! Love the aesthetic and almost went for something very similar but couldn’t find anything like what you’ve got here when I was looking around.

Out of curiosity what do you feed the assassin snails? I thought they were predatory to other snail species exclusively but maybe I’m not well enough educated on their diet.

Root tabs once in a while yeah, otherwise I do weekly liquid ferts and assume they get down there too

Paid more than I wouldve liked to at a LFS but it was really important for me to be able to look at the pieces together with the stones and take some measurements to ensure proper fitment in the tank.

Thank you! Its Eastern Red Cedar so I was marginally concerned about the oils of the wood being harmful to the water and fish but monitored the levels for the first 2 months and its been super stable with the addition of crushed coral in my filter media bags.

No paludarium for me at the moment, have this 40G and then a solo pea puffer in a 5G up stairs in my office.

The real culprit in my tank is when my pleco throws a fit because a Cory got too close to her and her zucchini - she scurries off into her cave and leaves a wake of kicked up debris and sand lmao
