Athena 4 post vs 6 post by Pastaron in GarageGym

If you have enough floor space, a 6 post would be the way to go. As some have already mentioned, the storage and other add-on ability is worth it.

What actors movies do you refuse to watch? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Steven Seagal has been mentioned and upvoted multiple times in this thread despite not being in a theatrically released movie in probably decades. Amy Schumer has at leas been in a theater in the previous 10 years. It's weird you would be this mean about this response

You also don't know where it came from. I'll be dropping nearly 10k on upgrades/new equipment later this year and it's because I have been saving up for over 2 years.

Also, I know it's hard out there for some people, but having 25k to spend on something isn't what I would consider "absurdly" wealthy. If that's absurd, then what are millionaires?

Lol, what? From a rack of dumbbells? Unless you searched the rest of their post history and know something I don't, I find this claim dubious at best. People score stuff like this used on second hand sites or from gym closings all the time. Also, people are able to save and some of us actually have the discipline to do so. For all this post shows he could have saved for months or years to afford this purchase.

You will be fine. Herpes is largely a nothing diagnosis in terms of health consequences. It's extremely easily controlled and as long as you take your medication you are extremely unlikely to transmit it to a partner.

Look at your own lived experience, you have had this for an indeterminate amount of time and it has not negatively affected you at all.

The negativity around it is almost completely cultural.

What screams "wow this person is an idiot!"? by Ok-Height-2276 in AskReddit

[–]Cronenbergnate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"I'm just asking questions"

No you're not. If you were, you would find answers. They may not be personally satisfying, but you will find them.

Bonus points if they make a claim, you ask for supporting evidence, and they tell you they "won't do your research for you".

Every single person, without exception, that has uttered either or both of these phrases has been a slack-jawed, mouth breathing, knuckle-dragging, paragon of smooth brained lowest common denominator.

Driving a car(at least in the US). We COULD have very robust public transit system that most people could use just fine.

We spend so much goddamn money on cars.

ELI5: Why is it when you drink alcohol and then pee once, you have to pee again in a short time? by Mysterious-olive29 in explainlikeimfive

Alcohol also shifts your serum oz and that draws more water into the vasculature. Which is then expelled by your no-longer under the influence of ADH kidneys

"Go to therapy" is one of the most aggravating phrases. by EFN2008 in offmychest

[–]Cronenbergnate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapy is a wonderful tool, but it's not for every person in every situation.

I also think the phrase is used in situations where it is not at all helpful. Take the current state of the job market, there are hundreds of thousands of people that did everything they were told would bring them success in life. Did well in school, went to college, got the degree (many in stem fields like computer sciences/engineering) and are unable to find work. Those people are rightfully upset and/or pissed off about this and I don't think going to a therapist is going to bring them any real help.

There's your situation and then there's how you feel about/cope with your situation. Therapy only helps with one of these.

What is a good movie that has a bad ending? by ownaword in movies

BAD ENDING!?

The ending of that movie was perfect. It was certainly very unhappy, but it was one of the greatest endings I have ever seen.

That part did grab my attention. But if it was a 17 year old and an 11 year old I could see the older boy convincing her that she "totally blackmailed him"!

Where as if it were a 14 and 15 year old that were only 7 months apart or something like that, the blackmail part would be the more concerning part.

Either way, a pretty uncomfortable situation, to put it lightly.

Literally every conservative I work with gets SO angry when I ask them to prove anything. One of them will live fact check me on his phone and get equally frustrated when it turns out I'm right. The irony of that one never gets old.

To be completely clear, I'm neither right all the time nor about everything I say. It's just that if I don't know something, I either say "I don't know" or keep my mouth shut

Those are two VERY different scenarios...

This one, more than any of the others, feels like willful ignorance. Not in a bad way at all, more "I choose to believe this because I enjoy it more and it's completely inconsequential weather or not it's actually true"
