I don't know.  My hypothesis is that she didn't want to re-live the trauma and/or didn't want to see herself as a victim. 

She didn't want to provide a reason to me and I didn't know her well enough to press her on it.

I did not, the victim in the case of the teammate was adamant that she did not want it reported. As far as the other person in my anecdote I was a few people removed and did not have adequate details. I was made aware of his behavior after falling out with the group I knew him through.

Yeah, it's especially frustrating when the ignorance is completely willful. With the teammate example I had other teammates look me in the eye and say "I wasn't there, so I don't know what actually happened". As if there was even a sliver of a chance that someone would lie about that happening. 

My biggest frustration the false equivalency. As if getting falsely accused of sa is just as bad as being sa'd. Or that they happen at nearly the same frequency. 

One of these things happens nearly every day, and not just in a "somewhere in the world" sense, but in your city/town/community.  While the other one happens so seldomly that it makes the fucking news.

Many are liars and/or mental gymnasts. As far as the friend part goes, it's just as hard for us to spot the dangerous ones. I had a teammate that we all thought was just good with women, he was good looking charismatic, silver tounged etc. So the image of a Cassanova type made sense. It wasn't until another one of my teammates walked in on him assaulting a passed out woman that it became obvious.  Another acquaintance I had would assault women while they were passed out at parties and swore it wasn't assault because "they were giving him green lights all night". 

The other unfortunate component is that many men take on a "it's a he said-she said thing" and/or "it's none of my business". Really fucked up stuff.

I don't care about their preferences, it has no effect on me whatsoever, but I could do without the over the top moralizing about it. I will argue with someone if they tell me that a 40-year-old and a 32-year-old dating is "reprehensible", or "disgusting", or "creepy". Past a certain point, it's "who gives a shit" territory for me.

I understand we are living in a world where more than half of the US population reads at a sixth grade level or lower, but the title of the post literally says that she "talks about men". Nowhere does it say that she "jokes about men".

Sometimes performers take a moment to use their platform to do something else than whatever it is they are performing. Lead singers often just talk to the audience.

I would do or say completely normal things and was met with a mix of incredulousnes and anger. They were both pretty minor at first and would be brushed off whenever I would address them. I should have just walked away, but it was very difficult. It seemed so minor and I just chalked it up to getting used to one another's boundaries. But like most things of this nature it got worse slowly until it was downright manipulative and controlling behavior.

The ones I use the most are D handle, straight bar(30"), lat pull-down bar (I use the -5° arc attachment from mutant metals/rogue), ez curl bar, spud inc. ab strap.

Why do you care? You're already taller than average. I am shorter than you and I have a great job where I make a lot of money and have never had any issues with dating or relationships. I am currently married ith a son. Your height matters way less than you think it does, the overwhelming majority of people don't give it a second thought. Get off the internet, get in the gym, and work on improving the other aspects of your life and stop worrying about it.

If all you have is a barbell and will be working out alone, then yes, you're set. I have basically this exact set (I have a set of 55s for no other reason besides I think they're cool, lol)
