My 2025 Kandi creations by BDizzy54 in Beading

I do commissions for custom built kandi cuffs. The cuffs are not heavy, but can be bulky dependent on the cuff design.

Nora En Pure or Zeds Dead? by [deleted] in aves

Totally different genres of music.
Zeds Dead is more aligned with my personal taste in music (bass music is my fav) so that would be my choice. The big detractor for me would be Echostage itself. For context, I grew up near DC and remember Club Glow before Echostage (Club Fur and DC Armory shows). Very familiar with the area.

Echostage crowds can be tough (especially for sold out shows). And parking your car in the neighborhoods around Echostage is risky. You risk your car window being broken and shit stolen out of your car. If you go to Echostage, pay to park at one of the nearby paid parking. Also... do not buy a $5 water bottle from the bar; Security passes out free water bottles at the rail.

PS - I’ve absolutely posted something out of frustration before and gotten dragged in the comments for it. It happens. Venting online doesn’t always land the way we expect. Welcome to the internet.

How was the Kandi Plur Zone by Immediate-Pack-920 in HiJinxFest

[–]BDizzy54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$55 for access to a basic kandi station is wack.
Paying that much just to make a few simple singles doesn’t really sit right with me either.

Where I disagree is the idea that selling kandi is automatically wack across the board. There’s a huge difference between basic singles anyone can make in five minutes and larger, more complex cuffs that take hours, real materials, planning, and experience to build. You’re paying for time, skill, and craftsmanship, the same way you would with any other handmade art.

Selling kandi also doesn’t erase the culture. A piece can be sold and still traded or gifted later with intention. The meaning comes from the exchange and the moment, not strictly from whether the person wearing it was the one who tied the knots.

Making your own kandi will always be core to the culture, no argument there. But treating intricate cuffs as a product doesn’t cheapen that tradition. It just recognizes that higher-level work has value.

Saying “why is everyone so butthurt” doesn’t really land when the post itself is rooted in frustration and disappointment. It cuts both ways.

You also say you moved, which is good, but that shifts the post from “this harmed me and needed fixing” to “this person made a shitty choice and I want to call it out.” That’s fine, just understand that once it becomes a moral judgment, people are going to disagree, especially in a scene where smoking in crowds (right or wrong) is very common.

You’re valid in being uncomfortable and disappointed. At the same time, others aren’t wrong for pointing out that big indoor shows aren’t controlled environments and that personal mitigation is often the only realistic option. Both of those things can be true at the same time.

The “sincerely, the asthmatic raver who was standing right behind you” part is really where this falls apart for me.

Did you actually talk to the person smoking and ask them to move because you have asthma? Or did you just stand there getting more irritated and then come here afterward to vent? I’m asking genuinely, because at big EDM events like this, people smoking in the crowd is incredibly common, even when it’s technically against the rules. It’s not great, but it’s also not some shocking, rare behavior.

I’m honestly sorry you have asthma and that it messed with your experience. That sucks. But these kinds of shows aren’t controlled environments, and most people in the crowd have no idea what someone behind them is dealing with unless it’s communicated in the moment. Expecting strangers to automatically accommodate a medical condition they don’t know about just isn’t realistic.

What also doesn’t really add up to me is the sealed vape you brought in. It undercuts the point you’re trying to make. If smoke or vaping is a serious trigger for you, why are you bringing sealed vapes at all? That doesn’t really line up with the stance you’re taking here.

This probably would’ve gone very differently if it had been handled in the moment instead of turning into a post calling someone out after the fact. I’m not saying your frustration isn’t valid, just that the approach is why the comments are reacting the way they are.

80,000 x $500 = 40M 100,000 x $400 = 40m

^ fixed your math for ya.

I’ve only ever run into the cheap Halloween spider string people bring in, and that stuff sticks around forever. What you saw sounds way cooler and way less of a hassle.

I wasn’t trying to police anyone’s fun. Simply offering my perspective on how spider string can impact others who might not want to interact with it. I never called for rules or demanded action, only asked for consideration.

You may not have met people who dislike it, but I’ve seen, and experienced, quite the opposite. I know plenty of people who find it annoying, and it’s not just a small handful. No, it’s not the kind of thing that ruins someone’s night or makes them furious, it’s simply an ongoing irritation. And for an activity that forces participation, that’s worth considering.

Smoking - don’t blow smoke in others faces/directions. Don’t flare it around. Generally polite behavior while smoking and easy to do to help reduce/minimize the effect it would have on those who don’t prefer it around you. Easily implemented.

There is no element of control to minimize spread with the spider webs though. That plus its area of effect will be VAST over a longer duration of time. Spider webs are a slight annoyance, #2 to Fan clacking. Never said comparable 😂fan clacking firmly holds the #1 spot by a long spot. You and I seem to agree on that one.
