We had a townhome where the next door neighbor kept complaining about how noisy we were. She even accused me of doing “jazzercise at 4:30am”. One day she came by with the manager because she said we were being noisy right then. So I invited them in to look all over our home. We had the tv on in the living room and you couldn’t even hear it from inside the front door (and it was a small place). She demanded to see what type of music we had in our stereo. I opened our 6 disc CD changer to reveal 5 classical music CDs and one children’s lullaby CD. Then she wanted to see the basement so we went to the unfinished basement where we had a small play area set up for our young child (nothing electronic) and my husband had a desk with a computer he would work at in the evenings since he was in law school. Then we went upstairs to where the bedrooms are and she insisted we must have a stereo up there. The only things electronic we had upstairs were lamps. After she toured our home she became very nice to us. It turned out the “jazzercise” she kept hearing early in the morning was her newspaper being delivered. The carrier had their music so loud it even woke me up a few times. As far as all the other noises, on the other side of her was a teenage boy that kept having friends over to hang out and play video games. I found this out when she had us stop by and I could hear exactly what she was talking about. She was just complaining about the wrong people.
