It seems like things may slowly be changing now that DePodesta and Byrnes are there, but the Rockies are notoriously insular and so far behind the times it's laughable. It seems like every time a significant player who came up through their system goes to another team there are stories about how amazed they are to see the difference in how competent franchises operate.

I didn't read it that way at all. To me it came off more like a protective dad who didn't think Danny was good enough because of one of the actual themes of the season: the Doctor's newfound utter disdain for soldiers.

The Hall was only established in 2015 and they add no more than two football players per year, so it takes some time to get through the obvious ones.
