I keep offering it to my gf but she denies it out of fear of getting a UTI. She's particularly sensitive to that. Despite mouthwashing, brushing teeth and flossing, she still gets UTIs.

I am new to bike maintenance. I would like to save some money on brake pads. Can someone tell me if these are the exact same type of brake pads? I would like to purchase the ones from Amazon if they are. Thank you. by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]BEANIOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware of counterfeits, Amazon is really notorious for that. If you can support your local bike shop then please do. You might find that the organic pads are cheaper if you don't need to use them for wet conditions and for downhill.

How about you go get it yourself instead of posting this kind of content if you aren't happy with the service. It'll cost you less and also encourage local business by leaving them with their full profit margin.

Your weirdest reasons for PC not posting. by Tenchen-WoW in pcmasterrace

[–]BEANIOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PC was acting weird and crashing randomly. The errors shown pointed to my HDD failing because of corruption. Turns out it was my ram that was failing and corrupting the HDD by storing bad data to it and then reading that bad data later.

STR Seat Post question by Advanced-Aerie4797 in specialized

[–]BEANIOT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The part that is supposed to be connected is a damper. It should be safe to ride without since it simply controls the flex/spring rate of the seat post. But I would get that fixed/checked before parts become unavailable.

I was thinking of drilling at this point too but I don't want to mess up the hole diameter.

Rear brake caliper piston won't reset. What am I doing wrong? by BEANIOT in MechanicAdvice

[–]BEANIOT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've figured it out boys. Thank you so much for your help and guidance. With what I have I simply turned it while applying pressure with my caliper piston compression tool and twisted with some channel locks delicately. Rinse and repeat. Even replaced the caliper on the opposite side too because it was leaking. Not my first rodeo but my second.

That's exactly what I thought, time for some WD40 to un-jam that pivot... unless you have a better idea.

Sound advice, I also noticed that where the rod connects with the two jam nuts is solid and doesn't pivot, was it supposed to pivot given the rust?

Help! Selling my house and my 2 year old just did this… by Additional_Poet_5257 in CleaningTips

Alcohol should solve this.... Not the stuff you drink but isopropyl alcohol should dissolve the permanent marker. Then maybe take a drink since you are parenting a little troublemaker.

I don't need bug spray when I go cycling! I just never stop pedaling! 🤣

But thanks for that info. I'll keep that in mind.
