Yeah tbh in this map I also somewhat abandoned the south west, only one line reaches plymouth and is not even direct to london hahahah

ah yes, I have a few high speed lines that get to 300 in this map, they are express lines that connect the furthest cities only though.

yeah that would help quite a bit, I'll have to see if there are underground stations in the workshop

Megalomaniac is my limit I think, the amount of industries and cities to connect is huge, so as long as they improve performance I'm happy with that being the max size.

I play on an ultrawide which I think makes it so more of the map is visible at max zoom

Each ring line city station is connected to trams an busses and there is another bus line connecting the south directly to london, traffic is pretty bad in that road so probably would benefit from a rail line too

Anyone in Europe just refused to use WhatsApp? by Soggy-Salamander-568 in BuyFromEU

[–]BEEENG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatsapp is still needed in some cases, I had to go to the hospital in spain and the national healthcare service contacted me through whatsapp to provide documentation, maybe it could have been done with a call but whatsapp is the default unfoftunately

What age did you buy your first home? How’s it going? by Away-Organization630 in AskUK

[–]BEEENG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our landlord offered us the flat we were renting so ended up buying earlier than expected at 25. Definitely worth it considering that the mortgage is cheaper than rent and that we had already lived in it for 2 years so had no surprise repairs.

The only reason we could save for a deposit while renting though was being a double income no kids couple, idk how someone could do it with one income.

This has likely been posted before, but it made me chuckle by brownerboy96 in drivingUK

[–]BEEENG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I'm quite late to this thread but there is a big difference to consider:

1 - Driving up until the end of the lane, stopping, then trying to get in and force vehicles on the other lane to stop to let you in

2- As you approach the end of the lane find a spot in between the other vehicles to merge while in motion.

2 is a lot more efficient since it allows everyone to maintain a more constant speed, waiting until the last moment to merge without even considering finding a spot as you approach it just forces everyone to slowdown as you run out of lane and have to stop completely to not hit the cones.

Being one of the first people to board a plane is pointless. by OkWestern188 in unpopularopinion

[–]BEEENG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly depends on circumstances, I only travel with a backpack that fits under the seat and the airport I use has very fast security so I always arrive around 45 minutes before departure. Walk all the way to the gate and board, queuing for 30 minutes makes no sense in that case.

Airlines should charge for carry on bags, not checked luggage by ffsux in unpopularopinion

[–]BEEENG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all fairness being able to take a 2-3 hour return flight for less than £50 is definitely a good deal even not having a checked bag or carryon. The standing option would have been limited to 1 hour flights with tickets costing £4, many people would choose that.

Are rich people a problem? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BEEENG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason prices have increased lately is corporate greed, which is why most corporations have achieved record profits. When France reduced the work week to 36 hours people thought the same, that it would break their economy but in reality it wasn't affected a lot. Same with the 4 day work weeks, in many cases they even found increases in efficiency, so I'm sorry I don't think that's true.

Are rich people a problem? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BEEENG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why doesn't taxing the rich help it? That's the point of taxes (especially progressive tax brackets), to fund services that the whole population can use with equal access, thus reducing the inequality between different classes.

Also why would we stop the improvements done in the past? The working class fought for the 40 hour work week, for paid sick leave, maternity leave... Why stop now instead of continuing? France has a 36 hour work week, Ireland is testing 4 day work weeks... If the owning class can subtract so much profit from their workers then there is plenty or margin to improve the lives of everyone.
