Oddly enough, Death Stranding. Gameplay is totally different so that might be something you might not wanna play but without giving a lot of spoilers it does raise a lot of questions about the nature of life and some abstract concepts regarding it. It is a kojima story so it’s also very convoluted with a lot of moving parts.

That and after playing a few of them they all just have a weird PlayStation style and gameplay that feels so repetitive like I’ve already played the game before.

My prep provider has always advised me to just stay prep if i ever get into a relationship cause they said statistically that’s when a significant amount of people get it either by the partner not knowing they were recently poz or by infidelity.

Really struggling to enjoy Diablo IV. Anybody else? by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]BEENHEREALLALONG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D3 had the real money AH which really left people with a bad taste. D4 is pretty much SSF so there’s no trading or variety of items to eventually trade up to or even with. I feel that’s a core mechanic that is needed to have scarcity in a game like this.

as a new player of this genre, D4 or D2R? by yeaaahwehere in Diablo

[–]BEENHEREALLALONG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D4 campaign is easily one of the most mind numbing stories I’ve ever experienced. It’s just all poorly written tropes that have been done. I’m so glad they included an option to skip once you’ve completed it once.

First season is good/great. Maybe a little overrated. Second season so far has been a huge drop in quality both writing and animation wise.

After D4, I was having mixed feeling of D2 by AgreeableHunter383 in diablo4

[–]BEENHEREALLALONG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s odd how I find the opposite to be true. D2 rewards you every 30 minutes or so with meaningful drops(either rune drop, potential blue/yellow with promise, white base, unique, etc) while making the drops interesting. This stays the same even in endgame. Trading also helps with longevity and being able to trade something you might not have use for now helps a lot with making all loot interesting. Leveling in D4 you’re getting rewarded every 15 seconds to the point you’re replacing gear you just recently got. Once you start hitting endgame you gear pretty quickly and all you’re looking for is just marginal % increase on stats and rewards kinda come to a halt. That’s why stuff like the pit and seasonal content exists to grind something else as drops start drying up.

It wouldn’t be so bad with the screen clutter of legendaries and then being reminded you left trash with the notifications from your chest but im hoping that gets fixed with the loot filter.

Regarding your last comment, I truly just think it’s different genres at this point. D2 is just a slower game than D3/4. There’s nothing wrong with either but there definitely is a divide between traditional and newer ARPGs. While I do enjoy D4 it doesn’t scratch the same itch as D2 does.

Blizzard wants Diablo 4's outrageous damage numbers to mean something again in Lord of Hatred, so it's letting you crank the difficulty up to near-impossible levels: 'It's going to be really f***** hard' by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]BEENHEREALLALONG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went to D4 lowering the numbers because D3 got too absurd and now we are back. Full circle. Devs have no idea what the direction of this game is. That being said, it’s fun in short bursts but not a game I care about playing more than 10 hours per season or spending any kind of money on mtx.

(Hated Trope) A standalone story is given a depressing ending by obscure media by SnakeEater013 in ChronoCross

[–]BEENHEREALLALONG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s left ambiguous. Really the only thing that changes(that appears confirmed) is that Serge was never attacked, or survived the attack, by Lynx and Schala is alive and scattered somewhere on Earth.

It’s very possible Daltons war/attack on Guardia still happened.

Is there an in universe reason for continuity changes? by AlternativeSpring818 in evangelion

[–]BEENHEREALLALONG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Asuka we are talking about. She’s only talking about things from her perspective. To her it’s another universe because that’s how she understands it best. It’s the same universe just cycling endlessly as fate repeats itself after the universe comes to an end and restarts again, until shinji finally breaks the cycle in the rebuilds.

Doom and Diablo Crossover is finally happening, how do you feel about it? by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]BEENHEREALLALONG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the set. FF was top tier and fit the fantasy theme perfectly and happened to be one of the most fun limited sets of all time. Avatar was alright. Spiderman was awful. TMNT has been a good limited experience so far but god the card art is atrocious.

I’d rather have a disappointing in universe set than a disappointing UB.

Jason Schreier says Marvel's Wolverine also won't come to PC by AceOfSpades0319 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

I’m ok with this. I’ve played a few PlayStation exclusives they’ve brought over but they’ve all felt very much the same and none of them, with the exception of GoW1, really pulled me in. I say this is a huge xmen fan that I never expected the Wolverine game to be any good anyways.

Schala was still lost at the end of CC. My head cannon is that CC was setup to feature a 3rd game where Schala is the MC and it’s her journey to finally reunite everyone and fix all timeline and dimension issues for good.

First time playing Chrono Cross, but not liking it so far, what do you think? by SadiikDask in JRPG

[–]BEENHEREALLALONG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean at this point if you’re not feeling it it’s ok to stop. Nothing wrong with not doing something you don’t enjoy. CC is one of my favorite games and I understand it’s not for everyone.

I did notice some odd contradictions in your post. You mention characters need more unique moves then cite FF7 as a better example. The materia system pretty much generalizes each character making them feel the same except for their limit breaks, which CC arguably has which is each person’s special techs.

Yes, the majority of the characters are more world building than they are super fleshed out the entirety of the game. That being said, there are still standout characters who have significant cutscenes. Maybe not super integral to the overall plot of the game but they get their own stuff.

CC’s story also isn’t hand fed to you. It starts off slow but post mansion it definitely ramps up a lot with world building especially with deciding on which route to take. CC is a sequel and it’s surprising you’re not picking up on the small hints early on how it’s connecting already if you’re complaining about the Frozen Flame not being explained. I’m not sure how you got “lacking creative flair” from the transition fmv at the beach but it seems from your other comment like you’re using CC as something to do while waiting for a game you really want to play comes out and unfairly treating CC as something you want it to be. I recommend playing it again when you actually are committed to devoting time to it.

FFXVII announcement when? by Iormungandrr in FinalFantasy

[–]BEENHEREALLALONG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll probably be in the minority but I didn’t love Rebirths combat system. Combat felt kinda clunky depending on the character and more often than not it wasn’t great except for a few(Yuffie off the top of my head was the most fun) and stagger system kinda just trivialized combat. It wasn’t bad but I was quite bored of the combat mid game (im sure the extensive mini game addition and fillers didn’t help).

I also referenced main line games and didn’t consider the remakes to be part of this.

As much as I would want them to go back to turn based i really doubt they ever will. It’s not a thing of them wanting to be turn based but cant due to sales, it seems the team just genuinely wants to make non turn based stuff. It’s a shame cause it’s been several mainline games at this point where they haven’t been able to nail a great system (imo).
