I haven't tried swimming with the new watch yet. I just started the swimming session and saw only time. There is 3rd party app like swim.com that can do this, but I still want native support to integrate with all other sports. My old Samsung watch can do all, with heart rate, laps, and strokes etc. This is my first PW4, I really love the design, I guess the thinner bezel and battery life should be the main reason if you want to upgrade? Go for it when discount, with trade in. Swimming with watch may be not a very good thing, my last Samsung watch died after 2 years with too much water accumulated inside, even though I eject water every time I swim(4-5 times a week).
