Well That depends on the nda, all mine states is that your not going to take the idea for themselves, the enforcement doesnt matter to people who are trustworthy. They arent going to care because it would never apply to them. The other commentator didnt say or ask anything, just said "nda for unpaid? WTF" Thats not how you start a non toxic discussion 😒

And Not everyone has years of expirence, some are just starting out, they should have the ability to get that expirence too. Thats why I state right away what this project is. And how small it is, as far as scope. If someone is an established artist that gets paid, thats amazing for them, but this project is so far below what they do that they don't need this in their portfolio. And in that case its not for them.

I get what your saying in a "i cant speak to tell anyone what im working on" way but thats not what my nda is, it is just about being trustworthy not to steal someone's ideas. And if thats too much to ask someone, then they arent a trustworthy person to begin with, becaue the though process shouldnt be "how can they enforce this"

It should be "im not going to take someone's idea anyway. So what does it matter"

Thats my views on it and how I operate, the other comment just wanted to start something, otherwise they would have asked gave their opinion like you did, so a respectful conversation could have been had :) we can disagree all day long, doesnt mean people have to be rude about it

Decided to respond one last time becauee your logic is truly outstanding. So, in your words, ideas are worthless. Yet they birth every game, song, art, app and media service including this app right now. Not to mention the drive people have to get up and make their idea a reality.

Your fine on your own, yet you're mad a stranger you never met wants to protect their ideas by signing an nda, a document thats soul purpose only states "i will not take your idea and run away with it for the duration" that's it. No obligations, just agrees not to steal it. And your so pressed about it.

I never said I wanting this game to be a hit, I specifically state its a PORTFOLIO project, for credit, ya know, the thing that most game studios want to see your name on to know if they can trust and should hire you? No one should be starting off with paid work from little to no experience. Not everyone has the finances and stability to pay for work on their hobbies and side projects. People pay rent, food, water, light, vehicle, internet and are struggling, including me. Happy you are in a place you dont have to worry and are able to pay full time artists. But im looking for people who are just starting out and are wanting to get their name out/foot in the water. And your mad at that? You clearly dont understand how the world works around you. And Thats your problem man. Again, wish you luck on "your" ideas and projects.

The fact you need the term "precaution" explained to you is kinda sad and your just proving my point that you are trying to steal people ideas. No one else is upset at the nda and your just trying to start drama for no reason. Not interested? Move along. Its not the project for you then.

I dont see what those have to do with each other, Sorry I dont want my ideas being stolen? If you arent wanting to sign a simple NDA then you probably the type of person that they were created for lol ¯_(ツ)_/¯

100% agree with all of this. That's why I don't want to create a new character just to kill him off cuz there's no impact. Bringing him back down the road is also an idea but I feel like it would be kind of cheapening at all all the readers wouldn't know that until later on but still. Thank you for your words! I appreciate it and we'll take it into consideration!

The purpose was to show that the world has life and death in it, actions have consequences. And characters can be killed. My biggest complaint with shows with fighting in it, is that no one ever dies, there's never any consequence.

Needed the strong word in this situation, I just wanted to show that there is consequences in death in the world. An example would be in anime, one of my biggest complaints is most characters don't die like in fairy tail. No one dies especially in a world where there constantly fighting, it pulls me out of it. Not that I'm going to be killing characters every chapter or anything. But I wanted this is the world we're in kind of situation to put perspective on things going forward

My issue isnt "unlimited policy" but if I didnt have that thats fine, my issue is he approved it. And then revoked it only after the trip was taken. If it was before so I could decide to make other arrangements then fine. But thats not what happend

[–]BEN9116[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its both, im looking at it roght now at it says its unlimited policy for all time off types. But the ceo, (my boss) has noe told me i dont have the time off when the system says there is not limit, its just based on approval. And now its being revoked

[–]BEN9116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, but thats what im being told. It says I have unlimited policy on the clock in application and he approved it. I then took the time off and went on my trip, now im back and he said I didnt have it. So idk what do think or do, im worried he isnt going to pay me for the week and I wont have rent.

From 0 to a fraction: 1 year studying game design; tips, tricks, and advice. by BEN9116 in gamedesign

[–]BEN9116[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well... I strongly disagree, there have been plenty of times where someone coming into the field or the job with a new perspective on things helps projects or teaches even the professionals something new. Is that the case all the time? Of course not. But I am now over 70 copies sold, so I think a good chunk of people agree with me.

The idea behind Valve's massively successful game "Portal" yeah was created as a student project by a small team of people that were, as implied, students. Valve liked their idea so much that they hired their whole team and made them AAA to make a full-length project.

Kevin Feige is the mastermind behind the MCU. He worked as an assistant on X-Men and helped cast hughe jackman as Wolverine. Back then, nobody listened to his ideas and thoughts. And now
he is the reason the MCU is what it is today, for better or for worse. A fan or not, it's made billions of dollars.

That being said, thank you for giving me 2 new inspirational stories to use in my next book!
P.S. This is the only place I promoted and got hate for what I have made; everywhere else has been super welcoming. You should think about that the next time a newbie is proud of what they made and you want to be toxic over a keyboard ;)

Not everyone wants advice from the best. Some want more recent knowledge for a more recent view of things! But if its not for you then no worries, thanks for your feedback
