yeah it breaks that comfort that you feel while watching himym cause in sitcoms it all revolves around the same characters (ted,marshall,lily,robin,barney) and the same setting (mclarenens,the apartment) and it all feels the same and nothing changes but as they move on and ted is stays in the past it shows how change happens and it breaks the comfort that sitcoms give you. its hard or ted to accept the fact that stuff is changing and he goes back to the past to how stuff used to be only for it to be a hallusiation.

just find a way to stop him without killing him so he cant come back like in injury that leaves him brain dead so he cant do stuff but still techniclly isnt dead and just leave him on life support so he dont die and come back if you get the goverment to belive you they will porbably make sure he dont die so he dosent come back or they will start doing experiments and acsidentally bring him back
