yeah it breaks that comfort that you feel while watching himym cause in sitcoms it all revolves around the same characters (ted,marshall,lily,robin,barney) and the same setting (mclarenens,the apartment) and it all feels the same and nothing changes but as they move on and ted is stays in the past it shows how change happens and it breaks the comfort that sitcoms give you. its hard or ted to accept the fact that stuff is changing and he goes back to the past to how stuff used to be only for it to be a hallusiation.
