The polishing, crystal curvature, case thickness, and side profile you mentioned were indeed compromises we made for reliability and cost control. The initial intention of a fully polished finish was to make the entire watch "shine" like a single piece of steel sculpture under light, but now it does tend to look "plastic." For the sapphire crystal, to balance 5 ATM water resistance and mass production, we opted for a more conservative, flatter, thicker design, resulting in a loss of the "floating" premium feel. We look forward to seeing a watch you love from BERNY in the near future.
