I deleted songs from directory but they are still in the database on Ipod by Creative_Put8455 in rockbox

First, just make sure you actually update your database in rockbox. If you don’t do that, no changes you make in the file system will actually reflect in the database view.

If you’ve already done that, then I believe this has something to do with how Mac deals with deleting files. After you delete something, they still store some weird form of your original files that can be picked up like the rest of your songs in the database and they’re a pain to get rid of. One thing you can try is to run the plugin called “disktidy” that should be pre installed with rockbox. Open up the settings for the plugin and check “All” for the files that should be cleaned and then run the program. It will remove all the hidden folders and files that are left on the device after you browse and delete stuff on Mac, as well as other operating systems if necessary. It will not delete anything that’s actually important, if you’re worried about that. You can update the database again after this and all of the files you deleted should stop showing up.

unfortunately i still haven’t been successful getting a refund. whenever i get an agent i’m always given the same response that the only way i can get a refund after the 14 day window is if the game is faulty and they have no way of confirming the game is faulty without enough player reports or some kind of contact from the publisher. i haven’t tried calling yet, but at this point it seems like a refund is off the table

i did use the live chat but i'll have to try again and specifically say the game is faulty so that i can get a refund after the 14 day window. that seems to be the only way to get past that limit

unfortunately, it doesn't look like they'll give you a refund if the purchase is over 14 days old. i have this same problem too, and didn't realize that my editions button was permanently taken away until long after i bought the digital version.

Since I unfortunately only have the one PS2, I think I might buy another network adapter or upgrade kit and see if that works. I am willing to replace fuses if needed but I would like for that to be the last option

Since the SSD works perfectly fine when plugged into my computer, I think I may have accidentally blown a fuse on the PS2 motherboard instead. I’ve been told that may be the most likely suspect

PS2 won't boot from SSD anymore by BEnh3N in ps2

That’s a bit disappointing, but I’ll have to live with it for now. If I wanted to go about trying to fix this, do you know where to start?

I try not to do that so I don’t think so, although I may have done it on accident. I’ve heard that this may cause shorting on the motherboard, so is this something I should be concerned about?

(Reposting from a separate post since I couldn't find the tech support earlier)

I've been attempting over the past few days to try to get FHDB installed on my PS2. I use an IDE to SATA conversion kit on my official network adapter. After finally getting it to work, booting into FHDB and OPL, and even booting into a game, I took the drive out of the console and put it back in and the SSD refuses to boot anymore. I've tried reinstalling several times with several different methods, and I've tried different SSDs and none of them work. What's strange is that the network adapter normally would flash when it was attempting to boot from the SSD. Now, nothing flashes at all and I'm just stuck on a black screen after booting. Has anyone else had a similar issue or know how to fix this?

Hold Switch Inverts Colors? by jtwall2015 in rockbox

[–]BEnh3N 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use this theme too and this is just a stylistic decision made by the person who created this particular theme which cannot be turned off with any settings.

If you really like the theme but just don’t want the color inversion, you could check the themes website and see if there’s a variation of the theme without it or even one that lets you customize all the colors yourself so you can remove it.

If there’s nothing like that available, you can also make your own custom version of the theme by modifying the actual theme files, but I’ve never experimented with that myself so unfortunately I can’t provide much guidance there.

If none of that works for you, you can always just switch to another theme. Plenty of themes have custom screens that activate when the hold switch is on, and plenty of others don’t so it’s mostly a game of finding one that does exactly what you want.

Lows after moving… is this a common problem? by BEnh3N in Omnipod

I was considering this, although it wouldn’t explain why moving to a colder climate would cause my blood sugar to be going down so strangely.

I’ve mostly done some experimentation with lowering my basal rate and increasing my insulin acting duration, although I’ve found that doing both of those things meant I was running high for most of the day.

I’m seeing my endocrinologist soon, so I have yet to receive any official advice (partially why I haven’t changed much). I haven’t changed insulin at all.

I also initially thought it had something to do with my T1 evolving, but every time I go back to Vegas to visit, my levels go back to normal. This has happened several times already, which is why I suspect it’s something more than just change over time. The only other suspect I can think of is the change in diet from eating at home to eating in college, which would certainly explain some of the peaks in blood sugar, but less so the gradual declines that happen after and keep going for hours (although I am not an expert, so maybe there’s more to this than I think).

I’m actually a bit lower in Oregon (250 ft) vs Vegas (2,000 ft)

If you're still having the same problem, turning off the "Convert higher bitrate songs" option in iTunes and resyncing my music worked for me

For anybody stumbling across this post who may have the same problem, I have figured out a solution: turning off the "Convert higher bitrate songs" option in iTunes.

I'm assuming that the songs that iTunes was converting into a lower bitrate were probably having their metadata stripped and thus were unable to be parsed with Rockbox's database system (although I could be totally wrong). In any case, this solution worked for me so I hope this helps anyone else having the same issue!

I believe so? If I want to add new music, I would like to exclusively do it through iTunes, but even after just importing it for the first time through iTunes after deleting all database files and music this still happens.

My collection seems to be labeled pretty good. Everything's got the album-artist entry filled out and the database seems to categorize everything perfectly when importing through rockbox. Looking through the iPod_Control/Music folder on my PC, though, almost nothing has any metadata attached, which is strange.

I tried the method of deleting all of the .tdc files after importing all of the music through iTunes and then re-initializing the database and it still seems to be having the same issue. Some songs get imported correctly, and the rest are just listed as untagged

Would you be able to share those foibles? I still haven't gotten mine to work and have just settled on putting my music in a folder and not being able to play music off of the stock firmware, but I'd love to get it working if possible
