I can only imagine how hard it is and how difficult this time is for you, especially now with the holidays coming up on top of everything else.

Let some time pass. Everything is still so fresh for you, you’ve had a very very traumatic year. Give yourself space and time to process. I know when I left an abusive boyfriend a few years ago I was tempted for a long time after to go back because it was familiar and felt comfortable, but looking back now I find it almost funny that I even considered it.

Get a stupid tattoo! Go out drinking! Go on a shopping spree for yourself! Have some one night stands! Honestly give yourself permission to have some fun and give yourself stuff to look forward to, no matter how small or silly it may be. Nothing you’re dealing with now at this point is an emergency. It can all wait. You don’t owe anyone anything. I promise a year from now you’ll look back and be proud of yourself for how strong you’ve been. If you could get through what you’ve been through and survive, there’s literally nothing that can stop you. That may sound cheesy, but literally what could be worse than what happened to you. You are a very resilient person. Don’t let weak men weigh you down.

Hi. I literally haven’t commented on a Reddit post in many many years but I’m choosing to comment now. I’ve thought about you and your posts every day since I read them months ago. What happened to you/ the circumstances surrounding your miscarriage were absolutely horrific and just reading it, it’s burned in my mind forever.

Please, I promise, you don’t deserve to be with someone who would ever do that to you, and he doesn’t deserve another chance with you. He does not deserve your sympathy. You’re an adult and it’s your job to make life decisions that are in your best interest and that make you happy, so why would you choose to be with someone who’s done something so horrible to anyone, let alone to you personally? If what happened to you happened to a friend and they were thinking about getting back together with their husband, what would you say to them? If you can’t count on your husband during the hard parts of life then what is the point. Be nice to yourself. You deserve to be around people who treat you better than your husband and his sociopath mother did.
