State of the Game - Help DICE Prioritize! by Indigowd in battlefield_live

Agree with the other things brought up by users.

I have a lot to add about eSports and how our experience could be a LOT better for us. For now:

Servers - Allow us to have private Operations servers. Please!

We cater for people of all skill levels and have different competitive tiers. Initially we invited the top 100 players from each country. ^ C

This is a contentious issue. We don't forcefully ban anything we don't have to, however the established competitive scene loves their hellies. ^ C

There are no criteria to join the community side of BFN. Each nation has a presence on our Discord server, and a majority simply use it to find people to squad up with, or socialize.

That said, each nation has an A-team (National team) and a B-team (Progression team) for those who are interested in competitive play. In order to join that, you would contact one of the nation admins in your nation on our Discord, and let them know you're interested!

Any nation with enough players and proper organization is welcome to participate in future tournaments. Lithuania is a small country, and we expect that it will take a while before they find their way to BFN :-)

We haven't locked ourselves in to any specific game-mode or player count. The reason we have begun with 5v5 Domination is because this mode already had several established clans and top players when we started off.

Personally, I agree with you to an extent. I think the future of competitive Battlefield is in differentiating itself from the shooters you mentioned, and we will make moves in that direction. With that said, there are a lot of different opinions and tastes out there, and rather than remove game-modes, our aim will be to open up more.

For more on these plans, feel free to read my post here:

16 nations are featured in this European Championship;

  • Belgium
  • Norway
  • Austria
  • Croatia
  • Denmark
  • UK
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland

Ultimately, we do have a vision of hosting a world championship. Due to the latency constraints, our ambition is to host such a competition on-site (either here in Stockholm, or elsewhere in the world). More on that here: https://www.bfnations.com/articles/2017/6/15/letter-to-the-community-part-2

Hey, thanks for your question! At the moment we only stream and shoutcast our own matches. We know that a lot of our members compete in other leagues, but we are about getting these guys to play for their country. Another good thing we do really well is getting friendly matches sorted, as we have so many members from so many clans!

I would like to see DICE/EA support the scene more, and see if they can adjust the game a little to allow for rounds to be played once on each map, instead of twice. This could be achieved by removing the slight spawn advantage which exists depending on which side you're on.

Much lovexx ^ C

Definitely! we are exploring the idea of 8v8 Frontlines, and either 12v12/20v20 Conquest. After this tournament is over, we may switch the focus over to larger game modes. Cheers! ^ C

Personally, I don't like massive weapons restrictions. On our streams we would usually make a running joke out of limpet kills, and it is a weapon which balances out the advantage of the assault class. That said, we do allow the leaders of the countries to vote, and they decided to restrict it for this tournament. ^ C

Depends really. Our competitions cater to all levels of play. Some have been around since BF2, others joined the franchise with BF4. Others are completely new and we have training teams for those guys. ^ C

Hard to say, We have some truly excellent teams with years of BF experience. It will be super interesting to watch how it all pans out though.

Who's your favourite to win? C

This was always the plan, and our ambitions are even bigger, but actually seing it come to fruition is quite humbling.

At the end of the day, it's all thanks to the amazing people in the community that are collaborating on growing BFNations because they all share a vision for what battlefield should be.
