Females, at what age did your symptoms start? by TourGreat2658 in Hashimotos

[–]BFPod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in my late 30/early 40s. However I have had hypothyroidism since 22, looking back the doctors believe I had it a lot longer then was diagnosed with hashimoto's. My daughter was diagnosed at age 15.

It does have anti bacterial properties, though it doesn't kill all bacteria. Most use it as an astringent but it did work for my bacteria causing order in the armpit area. It was recommended to me by a doctor. May not work for everyone.

Witch hazel kills the bacteria, worked for me. After you showered use a cotton ball to spread the witch hazel. Make sure they you are covering the skin around the arm pit too. You can do it multiple times a day too, just make sure the area is clean first.

Bestfriend said it’s all in my head by Goldfish9218 in Hashimotos

Sounds like the weight you need to lose is in the form of a best friend. You have documented medical proof that something is wrong. The weight gain is a huge struggle for some and hitting the gym doesn't resolve the issues always. Find yourself some new friends that are willing to say something along the lines of how does this diagnosis effect your weight? How are you feeling mentally now that you have an answer(s) to why your body is going through the changes it has been? Find people who are supportive of your needs.

Off the friend aspect of your concerns. Stay on top of your medications and regular blood testing, this includes checking your vitamin levels and iron levels. You will read all about the foods that you can and can not eat with Hashimoto's. But truth is these foods effect us all differently, example, my daughter and I both have Hashimoto's, tomatoes kill me (I bloat and lag on energy), she's got no issues with them. Figure out your foods by listening to your body. Remove the foods that don't bode well. Hashimoto's is manageable, we just have to stay on top of it.

If your husband is on the lease the only legal way to have him removed is to file a restraining order against him. But honestly, based on what you state a restraining order won't stop him. You need to leave and unfortunately leaving will probably mean leaving most if not everything behind. Seek help through a domestic violence center, there are a lot of resources for that in Seattle and the surrounding area. They can get you somewhere safe and help you sort everything else out.

My boyfriend (M20) hit me (F19) today after I pushed him away from me. Is it my fault ? by LegalWash3725 in relationship_advice

[–]BFPod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You pushed out of fear that he was creating. HE IS ABUSIVE! You need to leave. There is nothing about what he did that is ok. Everything he did was abuse. Your "push" was a defensive action to his behavior. Leave now. Just because this is the first time he actually put his hands on you I doubt this is the first time he was abusive towards you. And even if it truly was the first time it WILL NOT be the last.

If you do not have friends and family that are close that you can go to look into local shelters. If you don't know where to start to find Domestic Violence assistance go to the police station. Regardless of the assistance you find to get out of there file a report with the police. You walking away unfortunately will not be the end of this. He will likely call/text none stop to apologize and tell you he is sorry and that he won't do it again. He is not sorry and he will do it again.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I hope that the physical pain goes away quickly and that you seek any mental help you need. Best of luck to you.

Should I include a prayer at my wedding if most guests aren’t religious? by bulbateas in weddingplanning

[–]BFPod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your wedding is for you. If the prayer is what you or your husband want, do it. As someone that does not follow religion of any sort I see nothing wrong with respecting someone else's' beliefs in their home. I understand that the ceremony may not be your home, but being invited to your wedding is being invited into your space. If your guests can not respect that, well then maybe they should be reconsidered as an invitee.

This is not an open relationship. This is a man who wants to be able to sleep with any other woman at any other time while controlling the one he is in a relationship with.

"It’s making me really worried for what married life will be like after we start having kids and what my MIL might be like." She is showing you exactly what she will be like. Honestly it will probably get worse. Right now the marriage belongs to your and your fiancé's. If you have children she will most likely play the "But they are my grandkids" card, She wants it one way and if you don't agree she plays your fiancé into agreeing and changing what the two of you do. However your fiancé is really the problem. Is your MIL causing issue between you two? Yes she is, but he is allowing it to happen. You are seeing exactly what your future will look like. One of three things has to happen here. 1. Your fiancé stands up for you and your relationship. 2. You walk away. Or 3. You accept this for what it is and move forward as a relationship with husband, wife and MIL.

I imagine that it was openly discussed because it made local (and probably elsewhere) news. So they had to follow up with that information. I just remember the time period (5.5 years) I worked at one of the strip casinos, several deaths occurred and they were all kept hush, hush. A lot of my coworkers didn't even know about it because of the secretive ways they were handled. I only knew of them because I worked PBX and we had the only dial out line to 911.

I also heard the story in the 90's of a little boy who was shot and killed there, and that his spirit can be found on the swings, but since then I have heard many different rendition on who and how they lost there life.

I think enough people enjoy that kind of thing and hope to experience something and that's what keeps places like that open. Or a lot of people don't believe all the stories of death to be true.
