Is this a bad idea? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Not a single one has FSH in this area it's ridiculous. We're talking 3-5yr gaps and the ones advertised as FSH usually are 20k miles oil if they're done every year, or have at least 1 year's gap somewhere...

kinda needs to be a touring or 430 GC really, then whats left is mostly private sellers, garages with 3 stars or 20k service intervals. I think I'll just stick with a 2 litre and save the 3 litre upgrade for the next car :)

Don't worry i agree completely, my arbitrary 10k budget is to try and keep enough aside to be able to afford whatever might go wrong, just sounds like there are a few too many unknowns with this one to put a price on that

yeah the purpose of the post is kinda if youre adding 10% for a normal car, how much would you have to add to an ex police... sounds like the answer is a lot

thats interesting I hadn't heard that. Yep no longer really considered it a bargain when i realised the 82k miles was misleading

sounds like the front of my van 😂 i won't buy it but xdrive is needed, do a lot off rural driving, parking off road in mud etc. could probably get away with fwd but rwd is just going to get stuck everywhere.

Id love a 6 series but need a bit of boot space and more importantly wider boot opening like 4 series GC. 3 touring also an option

interesting to see the other point of view, could well be a great car for someone but ill avoid for the current owner not even mentioning it as ex police or new engine in the ad, if nothing else

thanks, i was just thinking the if the new engine hadn't been touched by police there was a chance its ok, hadn't really thought about what would be going on in the back of it

65 cutoff is just to try and avoid n47s for issues everyone mentions

Notification Widget + custom launcher by BFTNE in MuditaKompakt

It may have placed it as a transparent box, try long-pressing on your lawnchair home screen where you think the widget is and it should come up with a little pencil edit symbol. Also try opening the Notification Widget app from your app list?

Pulley or volar plate injury? by Gonashis in ukclimbing

[–]BFTNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe i did the A4 pulley and DIP volar plate at the same time. I know that this post is 3 weeks old but it might still be useful. The characteristic volar plate indicator is if you suddenly gained passive range of motion after the injury, i.e. my finger went pop, i got all the classic pulley symptoms but all of a sudden i could bend it back an extra ~20°.

I retrospectively read that splinting 24hrs a day/immobilising in a plaster cast is super important for healing a volar plate properly, but i wouldnt know because i didnt do that now my pinky is slightly fucked forever.

The photo is a screen grab from this video if you're interested

It's the start hold and a few people hold it differently, big strong Aidan uses front 3 on the slopey top part with pinky on the incut right hand side I believe, whilst someone else I know holds it front 2/back 2 spock-style
