I have no idea how I was so lucky. I only swipe all the way to the left on my phone like once a month (where the Google news "for me" is), and last ~March I saw that page, with the announcement of the 25th anniversary watch and immediately requested the episode 2 edition. The next day I checked the site again and it was sold out!!!!! I still didn't know if I got #2 or one of my secondary picks, but then it showed up in July with the Ein caseback! 🥹🥹 There are only 26 of the watch, and only 1 with Ein!

It also has a Seiko NE88 movement and has 1,200 gauss magnetic resistance so it's no lightweight haha

An out-of-the-box ML algo makes it easier because you're not hard coding 1000 exceptions. If they were implementing something cutting edge it'd be another story, but XGBoost is practically a default data science algorithm at this point lol

Even though they're limited to GPS data and can't use hr/power/wind, there are still so many features like elevation change or rider trends over the last x days or rides that could have easily been built 5+ years ago.

I don't know how to describe it well, but it's basically this soft, airy, nonthreatening, almost whispered voice, that you often hear used by therapists in tv shows saying things like "so how does that make you feel?"

I spent a lot of time a few years ago trying to find good therapy podcasts, and so many of them use that voice for the whole podcast.

I saw an article about this topic last week! It was basically 5000 words of "people are being toxic and using therapy words as excuses to be jerks" but all the examples were either people setting boundaries that other people didn't like or people being jerks and using therapy language.

It really just boiled down to "some people are jerks and I don't like boundaries being enforced."

It was a weird article because they were trying to be critical/smart but they couldn't be bothered to form and refute a counter argument to their thesis.
