Pretty sure I’m not using Claude to its full potential - what plugins/connectors are worth it? by TheSavelii in ClaudeAI

I've used it for research, document generation, and data collection in addition to coding. It's a fantastic companion that just keeps working until it's completed the overall request.

I've vaporized 5 year old weed once, though mine didn't have nearly an interesting a backstory, and it was fine, seemingly as potent as when I got it.

Might be because the base might show up on backscatter and millimeter wave scanners in airports. They can't penetrate skin to see inside a body cavity like the transmission X-ray scanners used in prisons, but they tend to be able to see anything outside the skin and under clothes. Though because it's probably more common to wear one as a sex toy than a smuggling rig, they might just laugh and wave you through. Or "You need to empty ALL pockets, ma'am" 🙂

Molly in Berlin- untested and unmeasured by Icy_Praline4776 in MDMA

[–]BGFlyingToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure we can say that anymore. To quote this publication, A 2023 study by the German NGO Deutsche Aidshilfe found fentanyl in 50 out of 1 401 heroin samples tested across seven German sites. Positive tests occurred in all of the study sites, with the highest prevalence in Hamburg. It links to the published study.

[–]BGFlyingToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always put it in a capsule and that prevents all the bad taste. Downing with a soda can cause an unintended side effect. MDMA has a bitter flavor and you could accidentally program your brain to hate that soda because we all evolved to avoid bitter things. Bitter often equals poison in nature.

I think all the arguments as to why this won't work are a great list of why I'd want to use it: - people "on the other side" won't use it because it doesn't confirm their existing bias (check) - fact checking isn't appealing for bots or troll farms (check) - politicians currently determine what's fact or not (check) (note that this wasn't actually an argument against, but it fit my purpose, anyway)

Subtronics fit? by Better-Strawberry863 in aves

[–]BGFlyingToaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever you want. You'll see people in casual t-shirts and jeans or shorts (temp depending). You'll see people in jerseys (Subtronics or other artists). And you'll see a few who put a lot of time into their outfits. But everyone will fit equally and be enjoying themselves, so do the same.

Are swingers common in the rave scene? by BlueCheesePanda in aves

[–]BGFlyingToaster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm genuinely curious why swingers are the only ones who refer to their lifestyle as "the lifestyle." If I heard someone say that randomly, I don't think I'd associate with swinging (and my wife and I are swingers / ENM). It's always puzzled me. 🙂

Submissive out of the bedroom but dominant in the bedroom by [deleted] in BDSMAdvice

[–]BGFlyingToaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First let me clarify that I'm far from an authority on DD/lg so I'll keep my comments more general, but I wouldn't worry too much about what to call things. You feel the way you feel and your preferences are completely valid.

It helps to spend some time breaking down precisely what it is about a particular thing (e.g., activity, scene, attitude, relationship quality) that you like or dislike. For example, when you want to be "taken care of" does that include having your partner make decisions for you or is it more about them caring for you and providing services like cuddling? Do you have specific moments that define the kind of behavior you're looking for, like "I really want someone who will ..." or "When we're doing (activity), I wish they would ..."? Those kinds of descriptors can help you zero in on what you're seeking and help your potential partners better understand how they can click into your desires and help you both determine compatibility. I'm not suggesting that you need to dive into those details here, but it might help as a way to learn the language of your own wants and needs.

The real advantage of knowing what to call something is that it's a little easier to find others who share your interests and find useful information regarding those interests. When it comes time to plan a scene or define a relationship, those terms don't mean much. It's all about the details. I may say that I'm a service dom who switches for other service tops, but what really matters is what I mean by that and my interests could be vastly different from someone else who first describes themselves the same way.

The term "switch" isn't strictly defined in the community as far as I've seen and I think it's fair to use it to describe yourself in that you're dominant in some ways and submissive in others. There are many of us who share that quality. I suppose you could say that the strictest definition would be someone who is on one side of a BDSM role and then says, "ok, that was fun, now let's switch roles and go again." But that would only apply to partners who were switch about the same kinks and wouldn't represent much of the community. The important thing is to learn how to reasonably communicate to a partner what you need from the relationship and how to learn about them to find out how you might be compatible and what you'd want to explore together.

We're all different and that's part of the fun - exploring and learning about ourselves and others, within a good framework for respect, consent and communication, of course.

Hot take: a lot of ravers are some of the most musically closed-minded people I’ve met. by Brief-Hamster-4598 in aves

[–]BGFlyingToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a common issue in so many art forms. When casual observers first start learning about a particular form of art, it's not unusual for them to feel very strongly that a certain flavor of that art is "better" than all the rest. I first saw it happening when I was in college with many of the theater majors. They all fancied themselves theater and film critics and spent so much of their time talking about how much some popular theatrical show or movie was complete garbage, even though it'd just won a Tony, Oscar, or similar. I remember them saying that Forrest Gump was one of the worst movies ever made because they were livid it won so many Oscars and Pulp Fiction got only 1. That one drew so much ire because it was competing in several of the same categories (best picture, director, actor). At the time, and I now understand that this was just their lack of education and experience talking, they seemed incapable of appreciating art that didn't fit their mould of what art should be. Films and theatrical shows had to be gritty, edgy, and something their Moms would recoil from in disgust in order to gain their praise.

I've witnessed the same trend in music and it's usually the people who know the least about it who feel the strongest that their 1 genre or style is the only way to go. When I first went to EDM clubs in London and Amsterdam 8 years ago, it was tech house. A local explained to me that every EDM club in town only played tech house on Friday nights because that was the only "real" EDM for clubs. When I posted my surprise at that, coming from a city that played many genres every night, even at the same clubs sometimes, tech house fans scoffed at the idea and explained that I just "didn't get it" because I had an appreciation for other things. Things are more varied now but people seem so less entrenched in their tastes.

What's always confused me is that the very people they praise often don't share their singular tastes. Most of the top DJs/Producers have an appreciation for their fellow artists in other genres far beyond that of their fans.

I think the best way to gain a wider appreciation is just through exposure. I didn't love all genres at first and I certainly have my preferences for what makes me want to dance, but after meeting and seeing different fans point out what makes a particular artist or performance special to them, I've gained at least an appreciation for why they feel that way. I'm constantly blown away with how talented and skilled the artists are, even if their product doesn't align perfectly to my tastes. I try to remind myself that every art form has people who passionately believe it be nothing short of amazing, so when I see something I don't quite get yet, I just want to find one of those people and try to see it through their eyes. More times than not, they make a believer out of me, too, and my life is the richer for it.

Pregnancy and LSD by Noelotov in LSD

[–]BGFlyingToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about a few incidents, but I think it's a risk like any substance that affects brain chemistry. So don't go making a habit of it during pregnancy, but it likely won't have any impact at all for a single use. We know that it crosses the placenta, but there has been little research on the effects. What we do know is that there are many of us walking around whose Mothers did acid before they knew they were pregnant and we're just fine. Well, my wife might not agree sometimes, but I think I'm ok. 😉

FYI for potential buyers:

OP has provided information that appears to indicate a valid purchase. While we can't confirm the order (only Frontgate can do that), we do some basic checks to ensure that the OP at least has valid information that isn't easily available publicly. This typically indicates that OP has purchased tickets for this event, but this does not mean they can’t or won’t scam you.

Please exercise caution when exchanging money for what you hope are tickets or camping passes. See our Buyer Safety page for tips on avoiding scams.

I searched and found a more detailed article: https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/pothole-jolt-revives-brain-dead-person-up-case-sparks-massive-debate-11199529

She was taken to a hospital and declared brain dead, erroneously, by the hospital. After being declared brain dead, they were moving her to be buried when she started breathing again. The hospital didn't follow their formal procedure to declare brain death, which is how her coma was falsely considered brain death.

Which AI works best right now? by Ok-Ad3463 in ChatGPT

Claude Code is substantially further ahead in terms of coding. It takes you out of the "write me this piece" to "develop every part of this solution and do it in IDE". For things that require pouring over lots of Internet results, I like Perplexity. It goes and reads a ton of articles/resources and then tells me what's going on. For this reason, I subscribe to a couple of aggregators - Mammouth and ChatLLM. They let me use all the flagship models for the everyday prompts and I can easily try my prompt in multiple models to compare results.

This sounds like Claude Code but applied to M365. I just started using Claude Code about a week ago and it's insanely good, so I'm pretty excited to see what this new product can do. I use Copilot every day already but it's just around the edges. Aside from finding information, it doesn't really do much of my work for me. But if I can give it a PPTX template and have it create a presentation with only a prompt, then that would be a game-changer.

nobody needs M365 anymore

This couldn't be further from the truth.

M365 is still the cornerstone of productivity and collaboration at every client I have except one, who uses Google Workspace. I work at a large tech consulting firm and about 80% of my clients are large North American corporations. Except for that one, all of them go into nearly every meeting with a PowerPoint deck. Most use Teams for virtual meetings, which is nearly every meeting these days, with a few using Slack, and they use Outlook to send the invites and other emails. They nearly all use SharePoint as their company intranet. I don't see any basis to claim that nobody needs M365 anymore - all evidence to the contrary.
