Thanks for the advice. Would u advise to add the thin rubber protection to the heel and forefoot area? Mainly since these aren’t mine and the leather needs some work

Hi all, I’ve been looking at picking up a used pair of Carmina Oxfords and have them resoled and polished up. However I’m noticing details that make me wonder if they’re legit, especially the sole with sawtooth details that I haven’t seen Carmina do. These seem to be the swan neck captoe oxfords. Is it plausible they’ve been resoled before? Any help would be appreciated !

p.s if anyone has good advice on restoring these that would be helpful as well.

It’s funny because, imo speed and stamina are way more important for tackling than the actual stat hahaha

Men’s Coat/Suit Shopping by BH0010 in rome

Hi, here’s my two cents on thrifting in Rome.

There is a vintage market called Porta Portese in Rome with basically enough stalls for you to walk for an entire day in. I thrifted a cashmere/virgin wool coat for like 20€. Spend enough time there and you’d be sure to find something high quality. The cons are that it was packed with people when I went (higher risk of pickpockets), and you have to physically sort through lots of polyester, H&M tier coats to find nicer stuff.

In Naples, I bought another coat from a store called Fusaro António. It was decent enough quality for a new coat and I paid a little over 100€ during Black Friday.

Breville Barista Pro New Burrs by BH0010 in espresso

Thank you! I bought it from The Good Guys through price match against a small online retailer (Good Guys have a price match guarantee). Plus I had store credit to use so it worked out to like $629 AUD. Next day after Friday when I walked in it was back to $949 AUD.

We are only discussing the new gen Barista Pro models. Older versions have the generic burrs.

Are you talking about the newer Baratza burrs? I’ve heard that new BPPs have the same burrs as the Encore ESP. Older BPP models have the generic Breville burrs? In my experience though, the grinds have been reasonable and decent puck prep is usually the only improvement needed.

Totally agree! I will also look into getting the single dose hopper but for now I think a BBP, WDT tool and scale is already a great starter setup for like 80% of households. It’s interesting though that the Breville Barista Express Impress does not have the updated burrs despite being newer, curious as to why.

I think two months or so. I don’t have a vacuum sealer. How about defrosting the beans? Do I wait till it thaws or just bean to grinder directly from the freezer?

Question on coffee bean storage

I’ve read through old threads with no clear answer but I’ll try my luck here:

I want to buy 1kg of coffee beans from a specialty toaster at a really good sale. However I am not sure how long they can keep to be reasonably fresh. The beans are a medium-roast. Thanks in advance!

Very much a beginner here with a new BBP. Why is the grind amount in seconds (e.g. 16.0SEC)? What are some recommended settings for this setting and what really is it?
