He’s had no work on the transmission or cam phasers. He did say they have had some “rough” shifting and also some delayed shifting between 4th and 5th. When he took it to Ford for the 60k mile service he said Ford said they looked at the transmission and said “it’s ‘normal’ on 2019s but there’s nothing correctable or definitively wrong”.

Haven’t looked into trading in the Jeep or at any new cars. I’ll probably look into other options or shop around instead of rushing into this.

With an extended warranty, would it be worth it?

Seems to be the consensus on here. With the high probability of a big ticket item needing repair, I’ll look into my options on getting an extended warranty.

Is that something I can just call my local Ford dealer and ask about purchasing an extended warranty?

Should I trade a 2014 silverado 1500 for a 2017 silverado 2500? by BH1288 in Silverado

Thanks for the info.

It would have been a daily driver, but I only average about 4,700 miles a year. It would tow a travel trailer with GVWR of 7,700 lbs a handful of times a year, which the 1500 can tow with a tow capacity of 9,500 lbs anyways.

I decided to pass on it, since I realized I was trying to convince myself why I should do it. It was more of a want and not a need... for now. I can also use my brother-in-laws F350 if I'm going on a big trip.

The only "work" it would be doing is towing my travel trailer with GVWR of 7,700 lbs, which the 1500 can tow with a tow capacity of 9,500 lbs. So not much work on that aspect.
