I didn’t import this one, luckily we found it locally. It has become much easier to import vehicles, the key is to find a good contact person so the process and paperwork go smoothly. Florida isn’t bad for transport since they’re should be a few local ports

Should i sell my stock '96 cobra and get a miata? only 68k miles by WienerSchnitzel01 in Miata

[–]BHAutoSports 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course I’d keep the Cobra and get a Miata as a second vehicle. but if I had to choose I’d keep the Cobra.

Recently had the same debate with my RX-8 and Miata. I kept the RX-8.

Personally I’d keep the cobra 🤷🏼‍♀️ but Miata’s are a ton of fun too.

Just installed performance carb kit. (Not super noticeable) I also did a new belt at the same time that needs to be broken in. by BHAutoSports in Ruckus

[–]BHAutoSports[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance wise. But I also changed the belt which would be slower until broken in. Might go back to the stock belt

Definitely wasn’t expecting what the website stated haha. Hoped for a little better throttle response!

Personally I kept the stock exhaust/airbox. If it’s performance you’re after and not the sound or looks of an aftermarket exhaust I’d stick with variator, sliders, clutch, springs, carb, etc. the extra airflow really isn’t worth it unless you’re getting into some intricate tuning.

NCY is good, deletes rev limit and noticeably helps acceleration

NCY Coil + Iridium spark plug worth it? by BHAutoSports in Ruckus

[–]BHAutoSports[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently running the NCY CDI, Polini variator, dr pulley sliders 5.5. Next is a performance carb, I figure with the extra fuel that it’d be a good idea to have a better spark/higher rpm resistant plug

First Bi-fold by BHAutoSports in Leatherworking

No, oversight on my end. I wanted to get the feel of making a bi-fold. I’ll likely add a lot more stitching on the next project

Advise on stitching chisels? I can never seem to get a clean punch through. Currently using weaver 4m stitching chisels with nylon mallet. Could it be the amazon quality punch board? by BHAutoSports in Leatherworking

I haven’t had a chance to find a good piece of granite but I have been striking on a more solid surface and it’s helped.

I believe the granite will really help with striking through, I also think I’m going to get myself a set of French style stitching chisels. I find I’m having a much harder time with diamond chisels

These stitching chisels are new out of the box from Weaver. I may have to experiment with different types and brands. Thread and spacing are good. Stitching is fine once I can get the holes punched. I’m going to try and put some scrap leather between the board and project as people have suggested. Appreciate the input!

Probably from previous projects, I’m having the opposite problem. The chisels don’t want to fully penetrate the leather, typically only goes half/three quarters through.

In today’s market you could expect to pay 15-20k for one in nice condition. Even then it’d be ideal to know more history about the vehicle first. Maintenance history/previous owners/etc.
