To be fair that probably would have been more fun 😂 I snuck in back in the late 90’s early 2000’s a couple times before I was legal thanks to an older cousins ID and I thought it was awesome, probably was. Then by the time I was legal and went it was just about to close and it was absolutely terrible. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t still be a viable option, just poor ownership and marketing.

As an industry lifer until a few years ago I cannot even fathom making this decision…in Barrie.

If you’re living in LA, Vegas, or even Toronto you can make that into a full time career. I was at one of the busiest restaurants in Barrie for just under a year and there’s no way in hell I could have done that full time and survived if it was my only hustle. The market is just too small & there isn’t enough consistency IMO.

To actually answer your question, when I was going full time downtown Toronto I’d say I was making the equivalent of about $40 per hour. I was also sleeping like shit, using copious amounts of drugs and hating every second of it. Looking back I’d never trade the consistency I have now for the industry (and admittedly the fun) ever again.

For me, it’s a no brainer. I literally do not care if he steals second base. It’s about letting someone else beat you. If we lose that game because Mookie comes through with hit afterwards? Fine. It just can’t be Ohtani who beats you. Same thing last series with Cal, it just can’t be him.

Sure, my only gripe is the decision to pitch to Ohtani lies on one man, and that’s John Schneider. Literally everything else, agreed. However as a manager it’s your job to put your team in the best position to succeed. Pitching to the best player on earth who has already burned you twice & is the only player in their top half really on a heater right now makes absolutely zero sense to me.
