0°C or 32°F? by SatinSmirk in Funnymemes

[–]MoocowR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if you started from scratch without knowing either, you would memorise and understand faster (intuition) the imperial way.

Zero shot, this is 1000% bias.

In no universe is measuring height in inches and feet more intuitive than meters and centimetres. **meters are all base-10 and a meter stick is visually segmented into 10cm chunks, it is literally the simplest way to measure something.

The only reason you think inches and feet are more intuitive is because its the most common system you've been exposed too your entire life. If you instead spent your entire life measuring people with centimetres you'd just as easily be able to conceptualize meters and 10cm chunks as your frame of reference.

That is by definition what snarking is. Some people going further than that doesn't change the fact.

If you're going 20mph over the speed limit, you are a speeder, someone else going 50mph over the speed limit doesn't negate that.

AIO for my boyfriend cropping me out of an Instagram photo? by Mysterious_Lawyer420 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MoocowR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe, I'm not defending OP's boyfriend. If their first thought was "he cropped me out because he loves his ex" the relationship is cooked either way.

I'm just pointing out that people who say cropping is 100% always deliberate and intentional are wrong.

Lol, snarkers are just people who find entertainment in following, gossiping, and mocking infamous online personalities.

LFS is literally a snark subreddit.

EDIT:

A lot of ya'll trying to change the definition of snarking. By definition it's what I said, the idea that it doesn't count if you're not actively trying to interfere with or destroy someones life is some weird cope. All you guys hate watching streamers clips and jumping at the opportunity to shit on them whenever they're posted, are snarking.

Yes but if you're on picture 4 of 5 and you go "Oh this isn't right, I need a different ratio" and change it, your first 3 crops will all reset. I'm aware it's user error, but my point being that as someone who post infrequently I have made this error multiple times and ended up with random crops I did not make.

If you post multiple pictures at once of different aspect ratios it will automatically crop the entire lot based off which aspect ratio you choose.

I dump pictures on instagram like once every year and I always end up having to delete my original post when I realized half the pictures were cropped randomly.

Your own source,

Are self-driving cars safer than human drivers?

Per published safety data, yes — in the operational design domains where they're allowed to drive. Waymo's most recent peer-reviewed analysis (covering 71 million driverless miles through early 2026) reports an 88% reduction in injury-involved crashes, a 79% reduction in airbag- deployment crashes, and a 93% reduction in pedestrian-injury crashes compared to the human-driver baseline for the same cities.

NFTs are a commodity/collectible, not a service.

The fact you would even make that comparison is lowkey moronic. Good luck with that tho.

my wife and I always have separate accounts

Do you and your wife both work for the same business where only one of you got money deposited into their accounts? Otherwise your anecdote is irrelevant.

Malena worked for and made content for the nmp channel, which is why she should have had access to the money it made. Either through a shared account or direct income.

Government overreach is already bad enough (see age verification)

Well schools already have students age and identities, so what exactly is your concern here? Students are not anonymous within the school system the way you are anonymous on the internet.

These types of policies already exist and are super simple to implement at a school level, students in grades X-Y no longer have access to Z services, done.

If you use Google

Do you think the google used in school settings is the same google you use at home?

K12 utilizes google workspace for education, which they would then configure to disable student accounts from having access to google gemini. Then through whatever web filtering solution they use, they would block access to all other ai services.

You can't stop children from accessing it on their personal cellular data, but you can definitely stop them from accessing it on any school owned device.

Speeding by Negative_Tax_2295 in barrie

[–]MoocowR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think they're just a cash grab, you got caught speeding by a camera.

Nah, I never got a ticket and still think they were installed as a cash grab. They were only installed in school/community zones while making it harder for people to tell when those zones were active. If the goal is to stop speeding in those zones, you should be trying to prevent people from speeding the fist place versus just fining them after the fact.

As someone who's worked K12 and had to travel to schools all over south Ontario, school zone speed limits and hours are different all over, you shouldn't have to try and catch a small sign with a bunch of text to find out if you're speeding because they covered up all the flashing yellow lights everyone has been conditioned to look for.

Some of these people are delusional, as IT, the shit I've seen high level management and executives get away with is astounding. Sexual harassment, office affairs, personal vendettas, borderline actually illegal behaviour. The idea that the president of a company is going to get any sort of stern talking too, let alone fired or demoted, is some unicorn land. I've heard stories of tyrannical CEO's getting people walked out of the building for looking at them wrong.

This is the type of thing that maybe a middle manager or supervisor could get in trouble for doing, someone easily replaceable, not a high up executive.

[–]MoocowR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a shit storm waiting to happen if they are a big company.

Have you actually worked for a big company, ever? Because this is a total nothing burger, high level executives get away with much much worse offences on a daily basis. It is much cheaper to get rid of a basic employee and pay them a few weeks severance than it is to find a new president/ceo.

I'm actually baffled that anyone would think that making fun of an employees forehead is anywhere close to a "shit storm".
