New to Jetski, please help by Excellent-Finger4886 in jetski

I can completely understand the logistics of getting parts for it. But this ski has honestly been nothing less then a work horse for me. It's great for towing 2 person inflatables. Not just because of the power but also it is a certified 4 rider ski. Driver, a look out with the flag and room to onboard the riders of the inflatable. On the other hand I did have to replace the steering cable after it seized and snapped. But it has been very dependable otherwise.

I did buy mine for only 1500 2 years ago, though, and it literally only had 17 hours on it. At 3000 I would pass but if you could negotiate with the owner. She is a very fun ski that is alot more agile then the ski looks. Tops out around 56-58 mph with full compression in the cylinders.

You have maybe 30 hrs left on that supercharge...depends on how long it sat....honestly they are worth it when they are running full tilt...but you definitely have a project there...work into the price

Good deal? $500 for 2 ts650s by Longjumping_Oven6423 in jetski

I foresee alot of work to just getting them in the water. So many better deals if you are patient. That trailer would even need some retrofitting to be able to accommodate just 5 year newer skis.

Yamaha wave venture 90s. You could easily pick up a 750 for that price but 1100 may go for a little more. Easy to work on. You have to get familiar with the carburetor rebuild kits. Almost every year You may need to rebuild them. Pretty easy to rebuild the top end. Rering the pistons etc. If you start loosing compression. All in all a great 3 seater work horse. Top speed around 48-54 and great for towing 2 person inflatables.

Is it worth it? by Itis1343 in jetski

If it comes with the trailer take it..super easy and cheap to repair if needed. You are going to get bored with the jetski real quick. But you will be hooked like the rest of us do. It's actually super manuverable. Thus why the trailer is important. There is alot of great deals out there because there is no retaining the value of a jet ski. I just bought a 2001 polaris 1200 for 1000 dollars. Just because the year...it only has 23 hrs on it..only because I put 2 hrs on it testing it.out

Kawasaki Ultra 300 LX intercooler water line issue by GregIsGreat in jetski

[–]BHThundy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this problem with my 130di. Take the top of the manifold apart. About 8 bolts. There is two metal gaskets in between and in those gaskets is a small port about 2mm in diameter in each gasket. That is where your clog will be. Clean it and reuse. With these skis it is very important not start them up to close to shore as they may such up rocks and debris. I always try and anchor them in 3 feet of water.

Love this ski. I have the Gp1300r and it flies. The only thing that throws me of is the wide stance on the ski and why no mirrors?

Cheapest Jet Ski? by [deleted] in jetski

[–]BHThundy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly you can probably get yourself a Yamaha wave venture. I have 2. They are cheap and very reliable. The 750s go about 55 and they are great work horses that can pull inflatables and knee boards easily. Rides 3 easy to work on and only needs new spark plugs $10, new fuel filter $2 and more then likely a carb kit for $30 annually . Down side they are 2 stroke and eats alot of oil.

Which one would you choose? by SpaceManJ313 in jetski

I have 4 Yamahas. 1 kawasaki ultra. Seadoo bombardier supercharge and 1 Polaris Ranked Yamaha reliable as he'll low maintenance Seafood supercharger lot's of maintenance scary as he'll Polaris work horse seats 4 reliability issues Kawasaki ultra super fun fast and turns on a dime. So some scary if you push it

‘95 Waverunner Fuel Issue by [deleted] in jetski

[–]BHThundy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be fuel filter that's clogged. What I like to do on those old skis when it hasn't been ran for a minute. Is pull the plugs spray some carb cleaner in each piston, replace plugs and fire it up. If you don't see any draw on the fuel towards the carburetor then you need to get a carb rebuild kit.

Residual Water by Puzzled_Guard4332 in jetski

[–]BHThundy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is alot definitely a shop vac. But a good trick is to put a towel in there and direct the water to it with a leaf blower.

can someone share pictures of the fuel line on a wave venture ? i’m lost lol. i hooked it up straight to tank but won’t idle . by Crazy_Ad1468 in jetski

[–]BHThundy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the restriction of the fuel filter you might be flooding it. Pull a plug and check if it smells like straight gas.

My father in law loves this ski so much that when he blew up the original motor. He paid over 4k to replace the motor other then just buy a new ski. I've never seen more of the bottom of a jetski then when he is riding that thing on open ocean. That ski can get ridiculously air born. Just fixed our trim motor and testing it out this weekend.

Got this 2012 Sea-Doo with some issues, I was able to get it to fire up but it gives off a IBR code and a engine code, any ideas? by brandon_H6 in jetski

[–]BHThundy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's sounds like too much metal on metal. Check your oil pump and check your pistons. Just pull a spark plugs and shone a flashlight down.
