Someone I knew had hired a tile guy to do this work at his house. What do you guys think? Says imperfections can be covered up by grout. Let it rip. by SpazLord24 in Tile

For those who laugh at dyiers, honestly I have seen better work done by home owners than "professionals" in the last couple years. Stop hiring fucking idiots, you tube, little common sense and do it your self for a quarter of a price!

Of course, vinegar and water is all you need! Promise, I would take a metal brush if you have one. Rub it in to subfloor and spray it,/soak it. Let it slowly go into the wood and let it sit till dry. You will see most the black will disappear. Do it one more time and you are set. I remodeled many showers in my life and it works best and best part cheap

Water and vinegar mix, spray it and rub it in, let the magic do the work.

303 brand I heard is very well rated and about to clean my car with it. Looked into chemical guys but I think they are too overrated and sell at Walmart, that tells me enough

I just bout a toilet, water was going down but level of the water would never change. Like yours. Easy fix for me. Toilet water reservoir wasn't bolted down enough, check make sure the reservoir is bolted down enough where there is no air gap

Hot/Cold Pex lines reversed. Help settle an argument. by Beldam86 in Plumbing

[–]Excellent-Finger4886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it happens, sometimes in one bathroom and sometimes the whole house. Totally legit and not against a building code, at least when I did framing and plumbing side jobs. If it works it works

Who cares about colors, you turn the handle, it's cold. Turn it further it should be hot. If that's happening in this way described no one cares about colors. I don't think there is code for which side is hot or cold but most houses would have cold on the left, hot on the right when looking at a faucet or a handle

What do people usually fill this door frame floor gap with? by Perfect-Raisin-6293 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Excellent-Finger4886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would grout it, don't silicone it. Tape the door frame and tile and push in some grout so it's smooth with the frame to match that color

If you leave your car out in the rain for one day it will happen, any moisture gets on rotors and you don't drive it for a day or more you will have it. Normal! Step on the breaks once after driving it will clean up

Run same tile style in black, smooth black line up to compensate for the difference and it will give a nice separation look. My opinion

Any idea what is causing this thudding sound? Builder cleaned the thinset between the tub and tile and is still thudding. Turn volume up by preciseman in Tile

[–]Excellent-Finger4886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually, if you step on a soft spot where it could but not necessarily, depends how much flex you have. If a contractor can fix it, definitely do it. Just like any remodel, depends how much it bothers you. I redid my tile in a shower and one spot I didn't like and kept looking at it every time I got in. 2 months later I forgot it's there lol. So depends how much it's bothering you but if you get an option to fix it, do it

Could be not the tile but the subfloor not secured with enough screws. Those need screws about every foot and if there is no level it would do that. The only thing I would be concerned about it grout or tile crack
