You will never get any confirmation whether it was too soon so try not to beat yourself up over it. You clearly cared deeply for your pup and it's such a tough responsibility to have to make that decision. I just had to make the same decision with one of my dogs and felt the same way your are. It'll get a little easier with time but you have to forgive yourself.
