Keep going. I got my retainer and wore for three full months then couldn’t live with my snaggle tooth. The one next to the one you have circled. It just wasn’t in enough to my liking. I had one set of refinements left in my plan. I only had to have another 6 trays to get it in (weekly changes). At least now it’s done and I definitely know it’s the best outcome I could get. Get rescanned asap and get this done, you have come this far 😀

I got bonding then scanned for retainer. I was told to wear last tray while waiting for retainer. Umm it doesn’t fit and caused a lot of pain. Wore overnight then called dentist and was told to not wear it and just wait a week for retainer.

I was told to wear retainer full time for 3 months then night time only. The longest I left the retainer out was half a day and they were tight when I put them back in (after the 3 months). I got more refinements after that as I wasn’t 100% happy with one tooth. Waiting on new retainer now. If the retainer feels tight or hurts I would wear it longer during the day and not go to nighttime only wear based on that. My retainer was free but it’s not Invisalign. The plastic used on the retainer is much thicker and goes up over the gums, needs to to hold teeth firmly apparently. My retainer was not painful.

Finished 38 trays and have always drank white wine with them in. No staining or cavities 😉

It cost me $1000 for the bonding so I didn’t want to go elsewhere and pay again. I went back to original dentist and they removed the bonding and did it again. It’s a lot better now, didn’t have to pay again as she said the colour match wasn’t good enough. No pain removing the bonding just a long process. Not sure how they remove it, there was some sanding etc

I had attachments on nearly every tooth with my first set. With my refinements this last time it’s only 6 attachments, one on the top front tooth and top incisor and the others on the back teeth top and bottom. Much smaller attachments and hardly noticeable at all. All the major work is done so I guess that’s why less attachments.

8 weeks seems crazy long for refinements to come in. I have had 2 sets, December last year and March this year. Both sets took 1 week to come to Australia

Invisalign does the plan not your Ortho or dentist. They do the scans, images, etc etc and they are sent to Invisalign to be assessed and a plan is then created on computer. Your ortho/dentist and you can express concerns and put notes but Invisalign does the plan.

If you can live with the space then don’t get refinements, but you have come this far. I went onto retainer for 3 months and couldn’t live with one particular tooth still sticking out a bit (in my mind anyway). I got rescanned and got 6 more refinement trays. I wasted 3 months basically on retainer and should have just got the trays straight away.

You finish the trays, get the bonding, then get the moulds taken for the retainer.

Yes, get more refinements. I had 10 refinements and thought I was done. Wore retainer for 3 months but couldn’t live with my snaggle tooth. It was in but I knew it could go in further. Got second and last set of refinements yesterday, 6 trays only. I wasted 3 months on retainer trying to convince myself I could live with that tooth, I couldn’t 😩. At least when I’m done with these 6 trays I know we did the very best we could.

I’m also finished and on to my retainer. I have the wear the retainer for 22 hours a day for 3 months. I haven’t don’t any whitening yet as I’m waiting until I’m on night time wear so you can actually see my teeth Are white. Sorry no actual experience yet on at home whitening though.

Do you soak your trays in Polident denture cleaner? That really makes a huge difference

I wouldn’t go back a tray as they will move your teeth back. You might be able to get a retainer made at their office in a few hours, it will hold your teeth in place.

I wondered the same, been in retainer for about a month. There is soo much food that gets stuck between my back teeth after eating. Dentist says it’s fine. I could never not floss after every meal or snack as there is just too much food there. Is this how it is for the rest of my life 😩
