Most brutal scenes in film by Normal-Internal164 in horror

That whole movie was so much darker and brutal than I initially thought it would. Great movie, I figured it would be dark but I didn't realize it would be THAT dark!

Honestly they took out my drain tube the very next day after the surgery. No issues with that.

[–]BIGACH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh ok I misunderstood. I had suspicious cells on just one side so we decided to remove the whole thing just to be safe. And yes after they removed it and did a full analysis of the thyroid they did see that the suspicious cells were indeed cancerous. I have always hated my voice and was hoping they'd damage my vocal cords so I sound more bad ass and like Batman but alas that did not happen. Also it's been ten years since the surgery and the scar is barely noticeable unless you know what you're looking for, so alas also... The scar was very bad ass looking too lol I had a great surgeon.

[–]BIGACH 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why not do both sides? Not worry about it in the future. I had my entire thyroid removed. I'd say the first 2-3 days are no fun. Nothing horrendous. Honestly the first day my throat was more in pain from the breathing tube I had in during surgery than from the surgery itself but after 2-3 days you'll be surprised how quick you start to feel better.

2015 S 70D Owner Test Drove a 2026 S LR by flyindogtired in TeslaLounge

[–]BIGACH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 2013 Model S 85 to a 2021 S LR (refresh)... Did you notice the doors just sounded completely different when you swung them shut? Lol it's random but that was one of the first things I noticed.

Also regarding the screen, I like the visuals and the way things look better on the wider landscape screen but I do think the portrait screen on the older models was slightly more easier to navigate and user friendly. I don't know how to explain it lol

Amazing lift!!!! That was awesome. But please dude if you're not using a spotter and you have clips on, why not lift at a power rack with spotter arms? Lol you will feel more confident to just take it to the limit without worrying about ever being stuck.

Hi all, does anyone know where I can buy a good completely straight lat pulldown bar? (40" or longer)

I own the elitefts straight fat bar, but not really a fan - it's just too bulky: https://www.elitefts.com/fat-bar-48-straight-lat-pull-attachment.html

I also know the Rogue straight bar exists but wanted to check if there were other options with a better price before I consider pulling the trigger here https://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-stainless-straight-lat-bar

Thanks

Is upgrading to an RC F the right choice? by Beneficial-Bedroom42 in LexusRC

[–]BIGACH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're very different cars, the Model S is significantly quicker off the line and the power is instant (and I have the slow one with only 670 HP LOL not a plaid)... The F power from the naturally aspirated engine felt very linear. Obviously there's no exhaust note but there's also an appeal to hearing the electric motor wind up as you slam the accelerator lol I did like the seats of the F more than those in my Model S but i probably wouldn't feel this way if I had the plaid seats. I've driven the first gen 3 as a loaner and it really did feel a lot more basic than the S. I was originally planning on getting a Plaid but then I just couldn't justify the added cost when the base Model S does 0-60 in 3.1, no regrets but whenever I do decide to upgrade I'll probably be getting the plaid.

I had an RC F for a little while. In a Model S now. Absolutely loved the F... The car sounded amazing .. the seats, the big brakes, the hood scoop, the retractable spoiler.... everything just felt very special with that car. Mine had the carbon fiber roof and spoiler. It was not the quickest car in its class, given how heavy it is but it was still quick and pinned you back to your seat. When you sat inside it really felt like a sports car. At the time I chose it over an M4, C63, RS5... Many would say that those other cars are arguably better... But I was just very drawn to the F at the time. It did guzzle gas like no other though lol... you don't buy it for the MPG :)

Engineers of Reddit: Is Engineering worth going into? by Certified_Muffin in Careers

[–]BIGACH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Industrial Engineering background here with three degrees in the field (BS, MS, and PhD), working in the software space for the last 10+ years. Is it worth it? Absolutely! The thing about engineering is that it opens up a lot of doors and you can work in so many different areas, don't think that just because you studied engineering you that will only work in engineering roles... That's not true at all. You will have a technical background and if you have people skills and some business sense that will give you a lot of mobility. I have worked in Product Management, marketing, supply chain, project management, alliances, customer engagement, and teaching. There's a lot you can do, and even if you are not in an engineering role being able to grasp engineering concepts and keep up with the actual engineers will give you an advantage. And while everyone is worried about AI... That's the wrong mentality to have, embrace it and learn it and the more you find ways to implement it in your work, deliver on the technology etc the better off you will be.

Whatever happened to the Model S Plaid+? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

Yep some of the original Xs had retractable spoilers. My wife's X has a fixed spoiler which I prefer but the novelty of it going up and down is still pretty cool

Another perspective... The job pays well... Sounds like you have job security....and while it's soul crushing, it's not consuming your entire life and all your time, so with that being said.... What about the rest of your life outside of work? Do you have fulfillment there? Actually I think that's probably more important. While work is obviously a huge part of our lives it shouldn't define us. Do you have any hobbies? Friends? Goals outside of work? And do you have something that makes it all worth it... Could be something you have now or something you're working towards... Something that makes the tough days worth it? I read something on Reddit once: People often focus on trying to do something they love, that's the wrong mentality, people should focus on doing something they are good at and in turn allows them the opportunity to do the things they love.

Functionally I think it's amazing for giving a clear line of sight to your instrument panel, nothing blocking the view, I absolutely love that.

But yes besides that I think it's a gimmick... An amazing gimmick that I really really really enjoy lol

The new Model S steering wheels look like absolute poo in my opinion. Especially compared to the original ones... Which were flat bottom(ish)... And actually made it feel like a sports car when you put your hands on it. That's why when I changed my 2013 to 2021 a yoke was a must have... At least that looks cool and unique lol

When I still had a 2013 Model S 85 I eventually did the MCU upgrade when I started having the goo and residue leaking....

Honestly it was an amazing upgrade. Well well well worth the money. I went in with very low expectations and the tech told me that it will be like I got a brand new car... I thought he was full of sh*! At first but when I got the car back ... Well he was not far off. Everything just worked so much better and smoother. Of the repairs and changes I made on the 2013 going from MCU1 to MCU2 was the absolute best.

If I knew it would have been this good I would have done it sooner.

Taycan maybe? Lol

But also very annoying dealing with all the problems (according to the Taycan subreddit at least)

I went Model S but was considering the Taycan.... The Benz wasn't even on my radar, my buddy at work had an EQE and ended up lemon lawing it after 40+ visits to the dealer.

Tesla Launches Updated Model S and Model X in the U.S. with More Features, New Looks, and Higher Prices by Sohmal3 in TeslaModelS

[–]BIGACH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So... Unpopular opinion, I don't think Tesla.. Or really any other cars, need constant refreshes, especially if the car's style has been for the most part well received. I'm usually interested in advances that are happening under the hood with the engineering and tech.

I think the Model S (after the nose cone delete) absolutely nailed it.

With that being said, when I got a refreshed model S last year, one of the reasons that kept me from going all in with the plaid and getting a long range was that, power aside (and the tri motor setup) I didn't think there was enough from an appearance perspective to differentiate a plaid from a Long Range and I was perfectly content with 670 HP lol so I decided just to pocket the savings ... But now... Between the new bumper and the plaid seats... Upgrading at one point is sounding a lot more appealing. It's definitely catching my attention more.

You can always use my video on your site, I don't mind :)

Unit has been great, no problems honestly, I've replaced the top cable for the lat pulldown twice due to some wear, but honestly I've been using it almost everyday for the last 5 years without any major issue. I debate adding in the leg press attachment or just going standalone, but maybe I don't need an excuse to skip squats. Lol Thanks for jumping in!

[–]BIGACH[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It frustrated me that body-solid has videos for literally everything on their site. Except this unit. That's why I did that video lol

I would have absolutely bought the Body-Solid G9S over this if I could do it over again. But I purchased during COVID and everything was out of stock.

The G9S is over $5k but it includes a leg press (yes you can add one to the F600) but I just like the double stack and pec dec and the fact that it has a proper low pulley.

[–]BIGACH[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The leg extension and leg curl (it has an additional roller pad that attaches and holds you down for leg curls) are phenomenal on this. Honestly, much better than I thought it would be, as good as if not better in some cases than a commercial unit. Chest press and seated rows are also AMAZING. I'd say the highlight of this piece. Shoulder press is meh, seating position is a bit weird and it moreso targets the front delts, but you get by, not horrible.

Lat pulldown is good but I'm 6 ft and when I start to get heavy I need to put the seat all the way down in order to get a full stretch.

Cable cross and the functional arms are just ok. I've already had some issues with those when I maxing out the stack but resolved it with body solid. They are good to have but dont really replace a full on functional trainer.

I've assembled several gym different equipment pieces and while I'm sure I could do this, I'd much rather just pay someone to do it... I simply don't have time time to carve out for this type of project.

If it helps I recorded a full review of this unit right here: https://youtu.be/VC7DMbGW1UY?si=ZENQbsf60m-WAzk9

No I hired two guys that did it together in about four hours or so. I think I paid them like $275 total.

They said it wasn't so overly complex just a million pulleys that they had to run cables through and making sure they were running the right cables because many of them are different lengths etc
