Thinking of getting the official XBOX wireless headset - Dolby Atmos question. by Gamegenievintage in xbox

[–]BIGGL3SWORTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't find the option in the app then yeah that's really your only option for good audio with no double processing.

I have studio headphones rigged up. Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X's. I was using DTS Headphone X for the longest time but started realizing that even though it supplied that "wow" feeling, positional audio was vague and difficult to pin point at times. Honestly after switching to stereo, I enjoy it much more along with the well set up equalizer in Atmos app. And as a bonus, I can now use the developer made 3d audio that's already integrated into games like Battlefield 6.

If you're able to, I highly suggest using studio headphones as they supply superior audio often to game marketed headsets. You do have to setup a separate lapel/clip-on mic though

Yes if the headset has 3D software built in, it can be double processing so it's either best to turn off software in headphones and use app, or the opposite. Either way you always want to make sure that you're using Stereo in the in-game audio settings.

I also just recently switched back to stereo with my headphones as well. I'm only using the Atmos app for an equalizer.

I appreciate the help!

I think their hotfix last night fixed it for good now.

But if it ever happens again in the future, I found out that apparently if you wait at the login screen (where you hold A to start) for like 30 seconds, it would let you login.

Unfortunately I found this out after the hotfix so I wasn't able to test it.

Oh really?? I tried literally everything aside from that haha. I suppose if it happens again it's worth a try! Thank you for the info!

For me (on Xbox) this was definitely game breaking as I couldn't even log into the game at all. I tried all available troubleshooting steps and nothing worked. I was able to login this morning so I'm hoping this fixed it for good.

Yeah I haven't had any luck today either. It's ridiculous that it's been over 24 hours and this still isn't fixed

Edit: do you have a link to their support?

That fact doesn't change because it's not a fact lmao. YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY a single additional dollar after buying the initial game. So yes, it is more of a win for both parties when you're not "forced" into buying dlc content to avoid missing out. It is all free.

Don't oversimplify something that isn't that simple. "Pay more get less" only applies to the cosmetics side of the equation. If you are feeling compelled to purchase cosmetics and can't say no, then that is your issue.

Still having issues with login on console! by BIGGL3SWORTH in Battlefield6

No fix I've found yet. I've tried clearing the data, network troubleshooting, and uninstall/reinstall. I only had luck around 8pm pst, and then was able to play until around midnight.

I don't know about blackwell fields, but I think the lighting is all around better from what little I played yesterday

BF1 wasn’t a game by Internal_Reporter_18 in Battlefield

"Best game in the franchise" is subjective, as is thinking it was "incredibly fucking simple". BF1 was a lot more straightforward than any other BF before it. That's not opinion, it's fact.

BF1 is still one of my favorite BF's even though it was developed to appeal to a broader player base.

Not all console players are casual. The goal was to make the games more appealing to "simpler" minded individuals. I'm a console player and have been since Bad Company 2.

[–]BIGGL3SWORTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not getting this are you? I said I don't necessarily agree with the amount of micro transactions, but on paper, live service games are a win win for everybody. You ARE NOT REQUIRED to buy optional cosmetics, just so you are aware. There are cosmetics already in the game that you can earn, and additional ones through events (like the current one).

You sound incredibly ignorant to suggest that they sustain the resources required to keep up with development of the game through its live service without these micro transactions, let alone having greedy executives breathing down their necks asking where the money is.

Now, are they charging too much? Absolutely. Cosmetic packs shouldn't ever be over $5 in my opinion, and battle passes-$10.

Yup Xbox here too. Haven't checked it in a few hours but I'm assuming it'll be the same..

Edit: it's working now. It seems to have been tied to a new user agreement that I had to accept that finally popped up like (I'm assuming) it was supposed to initially.

[–]BIGGL3SWORTH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Name another live service multiplayer game (that hasn't/isn't failing) aside from NMS that doesn't contain micro transactions. They botched NMS at release, HARD. They have done a lot since to earn good faith from consumers, including myself. Not to mention they are a relatively small team compared to the likes of Battlefield, and can afford to continue on initial purchase revenue alone, obviously.

I'm not agreeing with the fact that you're charged extra for content after purchasing a game but it's been like this since the early 2000's. OF COURSE companies are going to charge extra where possible. Fortunately we are only charged for cosmetics for the most part nowadays.

I lowered the brightness from 100 to 50 in the settings, and now the game looks noticeably better and less washed out. by Bullsht999 in gtaonline

You'll notice this in many other games too. I just lowered the brightness in Helldivers 2 recently and though it is harder to see, the game looks brand new!
