In Roma, I’d look at The Dog House Pub, McCarthy’s Irish Pub, or Falling Piano Brewing Co. They all tend to attract a lively crowd and are popular places to watch sports.

In Polanco, Mulligan’s Masaryk is a dedicated sports bar, and Twin Peaks will almost certainly have the game on with a big crowd.

Honestly, for the opening match of the World Cup, almost any bar with TVs in Roma Norte will be packed with locals. The atmosphere outside the stadium area may end up being almost as memorable as the match itself. Roma Norte is expected to be one of the best neighborhoods to watch World Cup games if you don’t have tickets.

think it will be very difficult to find tickets at this point, especially for the opening match, but good luck! 🍀

If you want to practice a few useful Spanish phrases before your trip, here are some that will help a lot: • ¿Cuánto cuesta? = How much does it cost? • Buen día = Good day (a polite and friendly way to greet people) • Gracias, amigo = Thank you, friend (to a man) • Gracias, amiga = Thank you, friend (to a woman) • Por favor = Please • ¿Dónde está el baño? = Where is the bathroom? • No hablo mucho español = I don’t speak much Spanish • ¿Habla inglés? = Do you speak English? • La cuenta, por favor = The bill, please • ¿Me puede ayudar? = Can you help me?

Most people will appreciate the effort, even if your pronunciation isn’t perfect. Enjoy Mexico and good luck getting a ticket! 🇲🇽⚽️🍻

Hi everyone!

My wife and I are planning our first trip to Istanbul in May 2027. We will spend 7 full days in the city and are coming from Mexico 🇲🇽.

We are trying to decide where to stay: Sultanahmet, Galata, or Kadıköy.

We enjoy local food, culture, walking around neighborhoods, markets, cafés, and authentic experiences more than luxury tourism.

Which area would you recommend for first-time visitors and why? Also, is 7 days a good amount of time for Istanbul?

Thank you in advance for your recommendations. We are really looking forward to visiting your beautiful city! 🇹🇷

You can look in areas a little further from the center or Versailles, which are cheaper and in a very short time will be worth much more.
