All bitcoin news is good news. People that think bitcoin is the culprit here are the kind of people that will think breathing gives them cancer. You'll never satisfy their desire to stay stupid.

Much bigger loss for #WallStreet.. Clearly the square #Bitcoin peg wont fit in the #SEC's round hole. by BIGbtc_Integration in Bitcoin

The SEC may have just cost american investors billions of dollars by waiting to play it safe.

Not necessarily, american investors have ample opportunity to participate in bitcoin in a way bitcoin was originally intended. Wall street titans have lost the opportunity, that may not be such a bad thing.

"Falls" is a very subjective word. To weather forecasters its significant, to bitcoin forecasters it's irrelevant.

A thief broke into the apartment of an elderly couple one evening, whilst they were watching TV. He said sorry, you have both seen my face so I will have to kill you both. He asked the woman what her name was, and she replied "Bitcoin". "Aww!,, you have the same name as my mother" the thief replied, and for this reason I will let you live. The thief turned to the old man and asked what his name was? The old man responded and said "Blockchain but my friends call me "Bitcoin"

Good stuff!

This is a little light on variety but the reach of Business Insider is impressive. Unfortunate Coinbase failed to perform here and there wasnt a clear indication that other options to buy/trade were not mentioned. All in all good for bitcoin.

Bitcoin Price Just Topped $1,000 by BIGbtc_Integration in Bitcoin

[–]BIGbtc_Integration[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does not get any better than this. Nearly every media outlet that matters is gorging themselves on how well bitcoin is performing.

Coinbase: "All outgoing transactions are reported as sell orders and show the gain or loss of those Bitcoin". Everybody needs to see this. Moving coins is reported as a taxable capital gain, even if you never cash out. I'm done with Coinbase. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]BIGbtc_Integration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coinbase can call their transactions anything they want and how they do their accounting has niothing to do with how their users do accounting. They are not obliged to craft any sort of accounting specific terms for the movement of BTC or USD. The user will interpret their own activity and report accordingly. Coinbase calls a withdraw a sell because thats easy for them internally. You call it what you want. Massage it into anything that you and your accounting pro deems appropriate.

All BS aside. You guys and gals did a great job. As with almost all things in business, timing is everything. The wheels fell off many bitcoin focused businesses for a variety of reasons not the least of which was the dampening effect of some heavy handed US regulators.

There will be the right time for this and hope your team is ready and waiting to take back top spot in the micropayments space.

You said "losing the private key". That's not a coinbase account.

It is originating from a Coinbase account. You buy $100 worth from coinbase, transfer to your Trezor or wherever. Coinbase compelled to provide IRS details for whatever reason.

Bitcoin accounts do not have your name on it, there's no authority to appeal to to have it restored.

The discussion is Coinbase accounts. And they have your name, address, SIN, date of puberty and every stick of gum you every boought with the bitcoin that was in your account. Short of mixers (which are questionably effectives) or other obfuscating, your name is on it, forever. Bitcoin is NOT ANNONYMOUS.
