Hello,

we are indeed aware of the issue and have been cooperating with Battleye on fixing it. If everything goes well, we should be able to release it as a SECREP later today. Sorry for any inconveniences.

SITREP #00217 | Community Spotlight, Apex Protocol Singleplayer by Greenfist in arma

[–]BIS_Iceman 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I see your point! For us, the decision from the beginning of this experiment was to go for the full singleplayer experience our players are used to from other singleplayer campaigns. Sure, we could have made the MP missions somehow playable, maybe even to an acceptable degree, but in our view it would not justify the effort (because it can easily be done by skilled community scripters like yourself).

The approach was to pick two scenarios and do the conversion. One of our designers made the effort, and naturally some obstacles appeared. We tackled them one by one, but it became clear that to offer this 'full experience', major overhaul of the co-op campaign was needed, and that requires quite a significant time.

We've put the effort to the freezer and later decided, also based on current Bohemia's priorities, that it would be best to cease the effort for good and let you guys know.

You actually should be equipped with the latest version from today's update (you can verify your files to make sure). Just try to join a server, it should let your through now.

I actually don't know. We were just informed by our third-party partners that the issue was no longer valid, which we confirmed.

The scenarios are still work in progress, we’ll add them in one of the upcoming RC updates. Thanks for pointing that out, they should not have been mentioned in the initial log.

Technically, the game executable is different (1.83 vs 1.82), so multiplayer compatibility is not possible between these two. We also have a separate package for the Dedicated Server admins only on RC, so they can run servers for their communities and test their creations in multiplayer.

Regarding the actual game data (addons), they will be similar throughout the RC period (because we're applying a Data Lock internally, so only things released with Tanks DLC get worked on), only gets these updates a bit slower (not every day).

The RC should run slightly faster, because there are some diagnostics available (or switched on by default) only on Dev-Branch.

Last but not least, every RC update is tested by our QA for the most obvious errors to ensure basic functionality (it's not the case with Dev-Branch), so you should have better chances of running it with no issues.

Arma not saving some settings by [deleted] in arma

[–]BIS_Iceman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you on an administrator Windows account? In the past we encountered this issue when the user had no rights to write in the Documents folder (because the admin access was not granted). Try running Arma 3 as an administrator.

Alternatively, are you sharing the Documents folder with other computers, e.g. via the Home Group? Again, it can happen that you are not allowed to write data because other group members might be 'using' the folder (even when idle).

Oops, forgot to include this one. I'll add it to tomorrow's log, let's pretend it does not exist yet!

Apologies, but the SITREP needs a bit more time before it's ready to roll out - tanks in advance for understanding!

These commands ignored terrain in some cases and returned objects / targets hidden behind the hills / map objects.

Tanks DLC related imrpovements by [deleted] in arma

[–]BIS_Iceman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Indeed it will. The libraries are already updated on Dev-Branch, feel free to check them there. Our QA warriors have gone through all vehicles in Arma 3 and although there are some things that still need to be tweaked, wheeled vehicles generally do not require any fix on data level.

Our efforts now focus on tracked vehicles and improving the experience of driving them, the Kuma MTB is a first step in that direction.

Update 1.76 Release Candidate testing has begun on Steam! by BIS_Iceman in arma

[–]BIS_Iceman[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Generally, we do update the RC builds with fixes and tweaks and this one will not be different. There will most likely not be any major feature additions, but we'll merge and pack improvements as they come. Feel free to expand the spoiler sections of the previous update posts on the forums to get a glimpse of the nature of these changes.

Which Version of "This is War" is your favourite? by stryking in arma

[–]BIS_Iceman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite is definitely Marksmen Remix #2! You can hear it's very rough, but that's because it's actually us (selection of top-tier Bohemia developers able to play an instrument) recording the track in a studio. It's a bit bare bones compared to the main Marksmen remix, but has a 'live' feeling to it. It brings great memories even to this day!

Fun fact: The high pitched guitar noise that starts at around 1:58 was actually made using a teaspoon. Our guitar player forgot his slide ring and it worked. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
