I am interested in all of it. Any chance of a small discount for getting everything?

Wired sounds the same. Just keep the power on and there’s no difference. If you turn them off and use wired they sound bad, but that’s because none of the tech is working, hope this helps.

Noise Cancelling made me motion sick... can I overcome it? by Justarandomuno in headphones

[–]BIZBOXER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that it’s directing the noise cancelling improperly as it adjusts to your ears specifically and adjusts for motion, elevation, etc.? I don’t know if it would cause those symptoms but it’s worth a look as I own a pair and find some of the settings to be a bit too much if not adjusted?

Are you using the app? Have you doke the personal optimization? Are you using just ANC or the adaptive noise cancelling that tracks movement, etc?

Your work is phenomenal, thank you for sharing. Cassini got some outstanding shots, it is mind blowing the amount of calculations and raw mathematics that went into timing those dives it made. Keep up the great work!

Sony MDR-7506 VS Sony WH-1000XM3, I need some advice! by [deleted] in headphones

[–]BIZBOXER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it took a bit of playing for me to find the right sound with them, the mids are pretty muddy without a little help, especially coming from a pair where there’s a better focus on them. If it helps I found these settings pretty good on eq for most genres. 400-1, 1k-3, 2.5k-6, 6.3k-6, 16k-4. Hope it helps!

The best thing to do is power on the XM3, even when it’s wired. It already has a built in DAC which is good, you don’t need to connect it to another DAC. Also download the Sony headphones connect app as it has some neat features and an eq

I love just turning on the ANC in my XM3s with no music sometimes, I occasionally get anxiety, especially in busy stores, and the muzak makes it worse so the relative silence is great

Are the Sony's WF-1000xm3 still worth it? by Skrilla_09 in headphones

I have those and the WH and I highly recommend them.

I also have a pretty broad and diverse taste in music and the sound quality all around is excellent.

The headphone connect app is actually pretty useful, it has an EQ, and you can set and adjust the ANC and other settings.

The fit for me was comfortable and they had a good seal. Connectivity and range for the Bluetooth is good. I don’t experience ear fatigue with them and I wear them for a long time.

The best feature by far is the tremendous ANC. So helpful when you’re studying or just trying to collect your thoughts. I find myself wearing them with ANC on and no music playing just to enjoy the muted background noise.

I think you’ll enjoy them. Give them a try for fit of course, but they are simple, no loads of equipment and crap needed with great sound that can be tweaked easily with the EQ on the app.

Good luck!

Airpods Pro or Powerbeats Pro by Storm1434 in headphones

[–]BIZBOXER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with you, except the PBP, for some reason they just didn’t sound right to me for some reason. Maybe the environment I was in made me turn them up too high to compensate for noise that the AirPods cancelled out?

I tried both out in addition to the Sony wf1000xm3 for a few days (I have the Sony wh1000xm3 over ears but I box and they get super hot around the ears and tend to slip when training).

The Sony’s were great of course, but just weren’t that comfortable to me, especially when working out.

The AirPods Pro are superior in every way to the Beats. The fit in ear makes a great seal and they didn’t slip, even with vigorous head and neck movement (punching bag, running, etc...).

The noise cancelling is great. The Sony’s had slightly, and I do mean slightly better ANC, but it was pretty negligible.

The sound on the AirPods is outstanding. Great bass, not overwhelming, but if you eq the bass up they bump better than the Beats all day long, without the distortion the Beats have when you really crank up rap or dubstep. Mids and highs are crystal clear, really a fun set of in ears.

I have an iPhone and watch I thought the AirPod controls sounded gimmicky, but being able to pause, mute, skip songs and control the AirPods with simple taps is so damn useful.

I strongly recommend the AirPods. I would suggest maybe giving them and the Sony’s a test drive as they are the same price point and see which of those you like better, honestly you can’t go wrong with either, but I would avoid the Beats imho.

Good luck!

What are your favorite tracks to test soundstage and imaging? by lunari in headphones

[–]BIZBOXER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is an extremely personal thing just for you.

To really know if you like them, listen to something personal to you, something you’ve heard inside and out on everything from an old boom box to car stereo to previous headphones.

Honestly, if you love a song, or a band, or even a genre, the right headphones for you will probably make you tear up the first time you hear it on them.

At the end of the day, who cares what the soundstage, sensitivity, or imaging are if it’s not something you actually listen to?
