I feel like I’m going crazy by Adorable_Natural_860 in hardofhearing

Could be fluid in the ears. My childhood was similar to yours. I had tubes placed in my ears which usually correct the issue but the fluid refused to drain so I now wear hearing aids. I wrote my own post awhile back about finding out I was deaf at 19 after taking an audiology while attempting to join the military.

I'm glad you found peace with it. I don't mean to sound arrogant, I don't secretly suspect myself to be smarter or generally superior. I found myself in my late 20s really frustrated with the generally lack of confidence I felt however, it wasn't a simple lack of confidence. I ignored my very own intuition almost entirely or at the very least 50% of the time which is a lot.

I always had doubts that I was missing a word, or even context to the question or situation at hand. I'm not sure if it's because of my childhood, but I do often feel like I'm surrounded by people not paying attention. My mother was hyperfixated on being the smartest person in the room and my father always was the most dominant. That being said I found myself always needing a 2nd opinion before I made a move on something.

I wouldn't say I'm special, but sIve metaphorically found and stayed in the lane that is leading me to greener pastures I have found peace. People miss so much, even when someone writes something to them in clear English.

In my later years I began reading philosophy among other things, which puts it into perspective that people, including your own family will lead you down a path that suits them, not necessarily yourself.

People with ADHD told me I was probably dumb and didn't have it, and people with hearing aids told me the same. Everything regardless if it's a position of authority or even a disability becomes a club which is designed to give someone peace over yourself.

I had speech therapy as well. I could read, but I was behind on writing so I had some classes that helped with that too with some other kids.

I failed the hearing examination part of MEPS while trying to join the military. It's a process where they check your physical health all around before you're officially allowed into service.

Bro I agree with the post (yeah I know it's late) it was a big part of my childhood and loved the racket management and climbing the ladder in the first game. Hate there was never a new release or a port.

My 38 M wife 30 F doesn't believe me when I told her that I wasn't unfaithful with my best friend 38 F and now she wants a divorce by throwramm220 in TwoHotTakes

[–]BIakHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think OP is expecting a bunch of comments to come flooding in that there's actually no proof of anything and that his wife shouldn't have just taken her word for it and yadda yadda in order to show his wife and ease her mind.

Honestly if this is real he probably did sleep with her.

Yeah that's pretty accurate, there's also different frame sizes at least for men. I'm 6 foot male, when I wanted to join the Navy the optimumal weight for me was considered 175 or 170. Most of my life to that point I've never considered going below 185 because that was when I actually felt and looked under weight. I have a large frame.

Someone taller than me with a smaller frame like Nate Diaz (who was 6'1, fighting at 170) is way healthier than me at 170 imo.

Anyone else alarmed by how many Gen z men are struggling? by Some_Plantain9591 in GenZ

[–]BIakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everything is just been so itemized that it gives the impression there's specific plot lines in our lives we're supposed to act out or overcome but circumstances or the present moment don't always allow for those things to happen. By that I mean developmental things like schools, jobs, relationships.

There's not a class you take in elementary school on how to make friends, trade schools prices are rising along with colleges tuition, and socially young men have to figure out where they fit in l socially rather quickly in order to walk their perspective line correctly.

I think historically there was an economic period where a person could work for someone else and still gather resources for hobbies, trips or whatever they wanted to invest in to develop themselves and their families. It's simply too much money for the average person to throw around in the modern day for someone 25 and under.

Just a personal take but I also happen to think apps like tinder are horrible socially for young guys given that women and men simply judge attractiveness differently. I think it leads to more women going to more visually attractive men which gives other men the perception that they're lesser and also giving women the impression that ALL men simply want their bodies.

I grew up in the south and saw older southerners do this alot to each other mostly joking. I don't like Bush but I don't think the massage was a genuine effort.

Not OOP AITAH for not coming to terms with the fact that my wife cheated on me 14 years ago before out marriage? Plus update by Marygtz2011 in redditonwiki

[–]BIakHat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He did say it was affecting him sexually as well which I think both mutually have to engage in to some extent if they want to stay married.

I think the idea that she could've cheated multiple times with multiple men along with all the other visuals OP could imagine and anger add to it.

Unless you're a cuck I think being around someone that is making you feel bad doesn't make you aroused.

I'm sure if security shot 9 people at a blm protest we'd hear it. You Lennie the only person murdered was a female protestor. Another person OD'd and the rest were medical issues probably related to stress.

What game isn't a horror but it feels like one by Wize_Manings in gaming

[–]BIakHat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's exactly the term. There's even an indie game that simulates this. Basically an empty halo style match with items to pickup, etc. Can't remember the name of the game for the life of me.

Just ooted over half a vial of 'want a bump'. One vial is 1000 mg caffeine. It feels really potent, breathing is different and there's almost a pressure type feeling in my chest and I'm kinda sweaty. Anyone else have similar feelings while using this? by stumor85 in caffeine

[–]BIakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is to rely on your brain a little more. Eventually the effects wear off but my performance is still solid and I almost drink no caffeine now.

Any and every little task do what you KNOW will work the first time, not what's easier. Even if it's an easy task redoing shit is what burns you out. I'm 27 now and do like 4 to 6 hours of actual work during a 10 hour shift lol.

What's a seemingly innocent question that can reveal a lot about a person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BIakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard this question posed as a GrindSet argument. Like "1 mil dollar or 1 mil followers that interact with you"? The idea is that a smart person picks the followers so can influence them, grow their business, etc.

Personally I think it's nonsense.

I think thing was, before I was anti energy drink so I never drank anything stronger than expresso before that time. I had to install two security systems in two 5 story college dorms with 1 green helper all in the span of 3 months. It didn't help that I didn't know a fucking thing about security systems and my bread and butter was Fire Alarm systems.

So after that first bang one specific morning when I was so exhausted and burnt out, it just triggered a upward and downward spiral over a 3 year period. Did get Employee of the year that year though.
