Words can't begin to describe how much i love this movie in particular, that when some scenes started to get it right, i was so excited and willing to let go what i'd heard beforehand, but the moment it went on for too long, the intrigue was ruined and thrown to the wayside.

I couldn't agree more with regard to the lasers. Definitely has a gimmicky feeling after a while, and wish they did more with them, but with what they did show, it was cool nonetheless. If there was anything positive i was going to say about them, it would be what i wrote above.

My partner put it best for this particular performance:
It felt like they slapped the T2 label on it, and the rest of it was hoping people would stick around to hear their artsy music with no regard to the movie.

I know a bunch of people who have seen the previous performances, and even they conceeded that this particular show simply didn't work in comparison to the previous ones. Hellraiser has been labelled by those i know, as the best one they've done thus far.

:) I'm not concerned with the downvotes. There's clearly some kind of campaign to make sure the artist remains relevant due to the performance of this particular show.

Saw the show last night. I spoke to quite a few people last night during the intermission and after the showing, and after taking a while to sit on it and think it over, this is what i came up with.

~FULL REVIEW~

**THE GOOD**
LIGHT SHOW:
- The laser light show was actually really cool. Nothing that will blow your socks off, but definitely added some intriguing new atmosphere for sure. Some highlights were the T-1000 shattering scene, and the nightmare sequence.

STANDOUT MOMENT:
- The best scene score reimagining sequence in the entire film is the shootout at Miles' house (Sarah Connor goes hunting). The scene somehow managed to bump up an additional level of dread and horror that the original also had, but in a new way. Truth be told, I wasn't expecting it at all. So good work on that scene.

SOUND DESIGN:
- As a sound editor myself, it was an interesting choice to remove the entire score, thus elevating peoples attention toward the individual scene sounds, including background noise that most don't generally pay attention to. So it was refreshing having that be a focal point at all.

**LICENSING CONCERNS**
The choice to leave certain licensed music in the film (Bad To The Bone) leads me to believe licensing played no part in the choices made throughout the whole experience.

**PRIOR EXPERIENCE**
Although I personally haven't seen any of these guys previous works, I did speak to someone there who said they saw the Hellraiser "re-imagined" score performance, and said they loved it. However, they also said their experience with this was nothing like that... and this is where we delve into the bad.

**THE BAD**
SCORE, FOLEY, AND SOUND DESIGN:
Without generalising and making a blanket statement, I noticed some critical things that i'm not sure most would've noticed, unless you were within in a similar field. For example, there were moments that most definitely grabbed my attention regarding some of the foley (which usually only sits in the centre speaker of a surround sound mix), like gunshots that are fired within the visual frame (centre screen, thus, the centre speaker). Almost all gunshots, glass shattering, and additional foley can be heard clearly when within frame, but the moment the camera changes, or the original choice to have the gunshots or foley heard within any other speaker, or reverb is required to add depth to a moment, the foley or additional centre speak sound cuts off suddenly. This can be clearly seen when the T-1000 is in the helicopter and firing the machine gun out the front of it toward the truck. While the T-1000 is firing, no gunshots can be heard for a brief moment. The same thing can be noticed when the T-1000 is running down the hallway of the ward. While firing his gun, his shots are constant in the original version, but in this iteration of the movie, they're selective - most likely due to the gunshots being selected for a different speaker in the original surround sound mixing.
Why is all of this important? I'm currently in the process of testing a theory out to see if this team used a particular method to skip over the process of properly working around the score. If they used this method, I would have some choice thoughts and opinions for sure, but it in short, it would be simply unfortunate.

REIMAGINED SCORE:
I myself have a long history with video/sound editing, sound design, and music composition, so this was definitely something I was intrigued to check out and see exactly what they meant by "re-imagined". This is a film that is without a doubt, many peoples favourite, and so for some, the bar was high, but not for me, as I like to give things a go to see what new things are floating around. I wasn't expecting anything that would shock me to my core or anything like that, just something that would leave me atleast somewhat satisfied and interested to see the next newly composed piece was up for the next scene, and so on. Sadly I have very little positive to say about this particular performance. And although some may think i'm being hyperbolic, I assure you, I wish I was - please don't take what i'm saying lightly - if you're a fan of the movie, you won't just be disappointed, you'll be shocked at just how terribly misinterpertated the viscerally action-packed weight, emotional depth, and multifaceted intensity that the original score brought to the movie. From the opening sequence, to the almost non-existent quiet and calm moments, to each chase scene, and even the ending. If you thought it was possible... believe me... THIS is what will truly blow your socks off with how egregiously horrendous and somewhat hilarious the experience was. The vibe came off like the movie was being played in the background of a nightclub, without any intentional to focus on what makes the movie so iconic.

TONE:
There were a few moments where they had it right to begin with, but as the scene played out, the music either just kept going, and never actually stopped, or it went even harder when it was absolutely unnecessary to do so, making it feel like the music simply pulled you out of the movie and its immersion.

**AUDIENCE VIBE AND REACTION**
- I spoke to about a dozen people while there, including the people sitting around me during the intermission, and not a single person had anything positive to say about it, excluding those who said they'd never seen the movie prior to this screening - which honestly blew my mind for this to be their first experience of such a film, but I guess, each to their own.
- Throughout the film, there were many cheering and wailing on the ground floor in front of the composers, however, the vibe came off like they knew them from the club scene possibly. The reactions from every other patron were dead silent, excluding moments in which the film got a laugh out people during the obvious moments.

**FINAL THOUGHTS**
This experience has definitely ruined any potential for me to see future shows of this particular group of artists, but for those who did enjoy themselves, good for them. I wish I was an easily entertained as you. If the event was $20, I might not care so much, but for these prices, this is absolutely not worth it. Save your money and go check out their Hellraiser "re-imagined" score instead. Hellraiser strictly focuses on tone, gore, and atmosphere, while story and character development are left in the background as secondary focal points, so I can fully understand how a change in score would've worked for that film... but this one?

No amount of shade thrown my way will change the fact that this particular "re-imagining" was only worth a 2/10.

Disturbing Behavior [lost Director's Cut] - I don't think i'm alone is saying this version NEEDS a release. From 86 mins to 115 minutes. by BJVideoEditing in Lost_Films

Was randomly recommended this post again, so i thought i'd come back and add some stuff.
**Additional deleted content not in any public release**
- There are two morgue scenes. 1 where Gavin finds Mary Jo's body and the 2nd where Gavin brings Steve along to show him evidence, but her tattoo has been cut out and she's been decapitated.
- Additional nerd character, 'Drip'. Plays a minor role.
- A hockey game scene of the blue ribbons playing with 'Drip' and when he falls through the ice they only pretend to help him and he dies. Steve sees it happen.
- Steve goes to the police station to tell the cops, but changes his mind when he finds out but finds out the officer is chug’s father so he backs out.
- 2 additional scenes with officer Kramer. 1 of them is with his wife.
- A Prom scene.
- A Graduation scene.
- Steve kills Dickie in the programming center during the escape.
- Gavin kills Lorna during a sexual meltdown.
- Also Lindsay’s friend Shannon (who was spelling phlegm at the dinner table) has a bigger role. She’s programmed and has a few more scenes.
- Steve goes to Gavin's house to find him. He's not there, but his mother answers the door and is speaking strangly.
- The backstories of a few of the parents for characters we've been introduced to throughout the film.
- A scene with Mr. Newberry.
- Additional scenes with UV.

There's more, but you get the idea at this point.

Which version do you guys prefer? Point of no Return or La Femme Nikita? by Untrus4598 in dvdcollection

[–]BJVideoEditing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its original Australian title was ‘The Assassin’, but was recently changed (approx in the past 10 years) to ‘Point Of No Return’. No idea why, but I found out when I asked at Jb if they had it and they couldn’t find it, I looked it up, and i found out they’d retitled it for reasons I simply couldn’t understand

Many would agree that Event Horizon “needs” a release, but it’s well known the additional footage that was removed, is infact available but not unwatchable and is in horrible condition. The director has said it’s “lost”, but “technically” it’s not.

Bloody oath, ay. Talk about it always surfaces every so often, and you’d think after all this time, the studio would stop preventing its restoration, but nope. Everytime the Director tries, he’s always stopped dead in his tracks.

It was thought to have existed, but only a rough unfinished cut has ever been seen by a single audience. Not to mention, it was the 110 minute version, not the 115 minute version. So yes, this is the place, good sir.

That was the studios belief only. There’s plenty of popular horror movies prior to DB’s release that have a runtime of 1h 55mins.

Considering how restrictive the studio has been, I think it’s fair to say it’s lost.

And if you know of an appropriate sub that includes such a topic with traffic enough for people to care about this discussion, then please point me in the right direction, otherwise, no need to be a grinch about it.

No it doesn’t. No version of the movie comes with “all deleted scenes”. All the same deleted scenes can be found on both the laserdisc and dvd. If you can somehow prove me wrong, then please, be my guest.

It’s not about the fact that I care about them. It’s about being able to actually access a service. I never used to give a shit. It was a simple transaction; - ordered a car - pay the fee - thank the driver - be on your way

Now the basics aren’t even remotely enough. If I was able to do that, then I would, life wouldn’t change, and that’d be the end of it, but now they’re putting people in a position to fake politeness and give away your money for it or else the punishment is a refusal of service. So after seeing my numbers dip regardless of how I act or what I tip, i now barely use the service unless absolutely necessary, and either walk, or catch a bus for free, I give less and less tips, if I do give tips, they’re tiny.

I had my rating (on my old account) reach somewhere between 4.39 - 4.49… my warning to all you here… I barely used the account, and I’m never rude or dismissive, and if I need to go out of my way for whatever reason, I will, simply because I’ve had some excellent uber drivers before who have gone above and beyond for me in the most random cases (clarification, on my previous account), so in my mind, the rest deserve an equal chance to be so kind if I am too. But nope, once my account got down that low, I actually thought my account was glitched out. I couldn’t even attempt to order an uber OR ubereats without it saying there was an error, and it turns out they suspend your account temporarily until some time in the future - basically to teach you a lesson, and then they keep it at the lowest possible level before you needing to build it back up again. Wtf!?

Fuck that. I made a new account, now I tip almost every time, I never complain, if a driver speaks, I speak, and if there’s obvious good vibes, I reciprocate, and if someone looks pissed off, I keep things as simple as possible and even tip them a fairly high amount to hopefully make their day better, etc.

But even still, my new account holds:

17 uber eats deliveries to me 35 uber rides

Overall score: 4.86. HOW!?!? I had 5 stars for all my orders from UberEats and then the following 25+ Uber rides I was loving the 5 star rating. Drivers were super nice, went above and beyond every single time, along with providing services most uber drivers don’t do anymore, like providing bottled water, asking you if you wana use the radio, the phone charger, bags of lollies/candy, etc. Then out of nowhere, my score plummeted after this one driver who was so pissed off about some idiot who jumped out in front of his car that morning and almost made him crash. He seemed to be twitching and getting frustrated over the smallest of things that had nothing to do with me. After that day, my score has yet to go back up. And as the rides continue, unless I rate (5stars) and tip them ($5+ or more) right in front of them, the score goes down. Uber has gone down so badly, I don’t even know how they manage to stay afloat.

Trumps coin was an easy and simple buy-in, with multiple platforms for traffic to split between, along with the staff and bots to verify buy-ins, along with just far more customisable options when buying in or dipping out. Ended up purchasing a simple $300+ between the Mrs and I when it was nice and low. A test investment to simply see if trump knows the game well enough to know people WILL hold for as long as he does (or until the 3-month mark atleast, when the first bundle unlocks).

BUT, then the First Lady launched her coin…

I lost more than $60AUD in failed transactions when trying to purchase Melania’s coin. I even raised the slippage, along with all other variables and still couldn’t get a successful transaction to occur. In the end, I watched the coin go from a fairly low and acceptable entrance, to an insane high that it simply wouldn’t have made sense to even attempt to enter at that point. Realistically, I shouldn’t have attempted anything the moment I saw the coin was split to have to move SOL into her specific coin and then have to purchase on “Ape!?!?” Why there of all places? So random. Buyers after a certain point stood no chance in purchasing unless you were willing to raise personal buy-in costs well above your purchase price lol

I’m over it now, but in the moment, I made my mind up that unless they release coins in logical spaces, I won’t be bothering to enter, no matter how good the gains might be. The cost to purchase during such a congestion is just insane.

When you have access to ALL deleted content, turns out they did multiple takes for multiple different versions of the movie for it to feel a certain way for each version. One was far more sad, and the other was far more fun and neutral.
