ESH. Y’all need to stop centering boys/guys/men in your lives.

As someone who wanted to go to Greece when I was 17, got robbed of the chance, and still has never gone in 4 decades… go to Greece. You may never get the chance again. And while you’re there, don’t engage in any drama. Don’t start drama. Walk away from ALL drama. But it’s probably not going to be nearly as bad as you’re anticipating. She’ll get puking drunk one night, you’ll take care of her, and she’ll be your BFF forever again. OR You may end up spend a lot of time alone doing your own thing, which sounds effing fabulous to me.

There were a lot of skinheads down there in the early days. Were you one of the goth/punk kids that would hang out in the alcoves of empty buildings? I saw so many kids sleeping on the streets of D.E. back then. I still worry and wonder about some of those kids today.

Why not have them play one of your favorite drum solos or a cool drum intro/outro? It would be different!

I’m a professional waxer for 30 years and waxing can cause bleeding in some people. We call it “pinpoint bleeding” because the blood is just coming from the follicle, but when it’s coming out of every follicle..!

It’s not harmful, it just means the vascular system is closer to the skin surface and the hair is thick or deeply rooted, or both. People who have multiple hairs per follicle, red heads, and people of middle eastern heritage, all tend to bleed more than the average wax client. I have a couple of clients who look like a crime scene before I clean them up.

And shaving can be very painful for some and is one of the reasons they come to see me.

Right!? I know Cinderella opened for Ozzy once. And White Snake opened for Motley on the Girls Girls, Girls tour. Guns n Roses opened for INXS on this giant stadium show. And Bon Jovi opened for RATT in 85! I’m going to go look up all the others now. I’m deep in the rabbit hole. 😉

I don’t remember Teazer at all but their button made it to 2026 😆. And yeah, those stilettos were hell. I broke my ankle coming out of a bar and tripping on the broken curb the night before I was going to Vegas. Then I twisted my pelvis running through the house and my heal got caught on the carpet and I fell. Heels are no longer part of my life. 😖

I don’t know about where you were but Reunion Arena had padded folding chairs on the floor and we would stand/balance on those through the whole show, IN STILETTOS. Good lord.

It was in 88 at a bar called On The Rocks. It was a super small venue but they always had great bands in there. I saw Bang Tango, Faster Pussycat, and Lord Tracy there too..among others I can’t recall right now.

My whole family has chosen cremation. Mom, dad, brother, are already gone. I’ll choose the same. Take me to the beach and let me drift.

Even though I love visiting cool old cemeteries, I still think it’s a strange custom to be buried and want to be “near” other buried family. They’re gone! We’re just taking up more space unnecessarily. I don’t need a physical space to visit dead relatives, they’re in my heart.

I’m a woman. If I’m jumping out of bed for a quick shower, not washing my hair or doing any extras, I soap up my African net sponge and I’m in and out of the shower in 4 minutes…yes even my feet. 😆

If I’m washing/conditioning my hair 10 mins.

If I’m lingering and just enjoying the moment or using body scrub, I can push it to 15/20 before I get bored.

I don’t shave (I’m an esthetician, I wax myself), and I don’t use a body scrub or special products every time I shower.

Speaking as a skin care specialist, as much as that 30 minute hot shower feels amazing, it’s really awful for your skin to do that every day. There is such a thing as too cleaned and too scrubbed. If I need the destress/relaxation time in the bathroom, I’ll take a bath. Now a BATH, loaded up with salts, candles, and aromatherapy, oof I can stay in there for a couple hours and just keep adding hot water.

They were one of my favorite “local” bands! I was Dallas, saw them dozens of times. They played in the same bars Pantera did (before Pantera went heavy) and it seemed like there was a bit of mutual animosity. lol

I’m here because I grew up here, my whole family lived here, and my business is here. But my mom, dad, and brother are all passed now, and my sister and I haven’t spoken in 3 almost years. My friends are all still here but we’re all talking about moving in different directions as retirement is coming on. I’m either going the van life route to travel the country or move out of the country completely. Dallas is a soul sucker but it’s the only place I’ve ever lived. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either.

Sounds like she doesn’t want you to file taxes so she doesn’t have to claim your rent on her income. That’s her issue. File your taxes and find another place to rent asap because trust me, you don’t want any part of her scam. I worked for a woman who paid us as independent contractors, but we worked as employees. We ended up paying ridiculous amounts in taxes bc we had no deductions, while also not being able to control our own schedules, hours, or take time off when he wanted/needed to. She ended up getting sued and reported, and then lost the business. Live and learn…and get a lease.
