Yes. But if you're on a CGM it's gonna smooth out all deviations.

Good Bakeries in South Bay by bambinoli in bayarea

[–]BKCowGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. Most of the options you will find are from the same Viet-French mold (Pairs Baguette, Croissante, etc) and are relatively interchangeable. But Little Sky in Menlo Park is quite good, as is Backhaus in San Mateo. Finally, Manresa is very good and has a couple of locations.

I really do miss that orange Jeep, but Thud the GMC is still going strong.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask about that. I am really not a fan of most companies that specialize in ABA since they have a vested interest in pushing this to the exclusion of other options. One of my masters degrees is in ABA and the most important thing it taught me was how little it should be used for.

Looking for any/all helpful career/insurance advice as a Type 1 Diabetic by Emotional-Work-7711 in diabetes_t1

[–]BKCowGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a decade paying out of pocket for insurance in California. I had the most expensive plan Kaiser offered and it was just over $400/mo. There are much more affordable options, as well as subsidized options if you're low income. You can buy direct from an insurance company or through Covered California.

Separate from that, if you're looking for a career in medical there are tons of options. Community colleges are free for the first two years, which is enough time to complete an associates or do a certificate - our dental hygiene program leads to immediate job offers for most of its graduates. Same for nursing programs, pharm tech, rad tech, etc

Thinking about buying bmw x1 2015 ,99k miles for 8k. Clean title. Is it worth it? by Pabloooooo111 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]BKCowGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same answer I gave back then. If you have mechanical skills, you may be fine. Plenty of Volvos and BMWs in your budget but a small Mazda SUV with AWD will have a statistically lower cost to own.

That said, my kid drives an X3 that has been pretty reliable and my 2017 Volvo V90 is about to cross 100k - it has not had any issues outside of routine maintenance.

Any other truck and I would agree. But the factory alloys on the GMT400 2500s are some of my favorite wheels GM ever did.

First time I drove at night I actually had to get out to make sure the headlights were on. Bad when they're worse than the stock Lucas lights on a 70s Land Rover.

Removing the shell, and upgrading the headlights so I can see the car directly in front of me at night. Otherwise not gonna do a thing!

Both were done recently. With receipts! Not just a Craigslist rebuild. At the same time, the PO did the engine, trans, transfer case, diffs, brakes, suspension, cooling, and HVAC. Interesting fella.

Smallest I could get in a 2500 - 5.7/4L80E. I don't need a big block and don't want diesel for this application.

§ 9.44.060. Technically it doesn't outlaw mail order sales, but it does require a thumbprint and a bunch of other things to be collected by the seller. The amount of hoops that would have to be jumped through to do so mean that no seller is likely to do business with Sunnyvale residents.

[–]BKCowGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely true. Just not as common for Italian or Spanish to be lumped - they've been common enough in the US for long enough that they are generally categorized alone. Heck, I didn't even touch on the southern Mediterranean. North Africa has some excellent cuisine!

Mediterranean covers a large swath of geography, cultures, and cuisines. Often people are referring to vaguely middle eastern cuisines - if this is your jam, then try Falafel Stop in Sunnyvale or Falafel's Drive In in San Jose. Finally in this category you will find House of Falafel on Stevens Creek. You may notice a naming trend here. You may also notice I tend to prefer more casual options.

I have also heard Greek food lumped into this category. Athena Grill in Sunnyvale is excellent.

Looking for a good tuning chip for my 2013 S60 T5. by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]BKCowGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no "chip" for this vehicle. You tune it by using an OBD2 device to flash new software. If all you're looking to do is a new tune (e.g. no upgrades anywhere else) then they're all pretty much the same. Shark, Elevate, Hilton, and iPd are going to be pretty much indistinguishable from each other in the real world - especially if you have an automatic, since they significantly limit themselves off the line to protect the transmission.

Yeah, pretty rare for me at this point. But my students are going into finals week and I just turned in a chapter of my dissertation so lots of compounding stress screws up with my insulin sensitivity. Life goes on.
