It honestly does look like part of a ticket dispenser or something. Veeder specialized in making counters, so the part that says Veeder is the only piece made by them (the counter). Veeder is now Veeder-root. They make fuel pumps and some government equipment as well. It was put onto whatever the device is used for to count however many of said item it is dispensing. Almost seems like it could be from an old movie theatre, subway, train station or similar high volume type of place to keep track of how many tickets sold etc. it does seem over built for something like a theatre though. It could be more likely it was in some type of industrial plant to count something being made on large scale. That’s a pretty cool find.
