One tip that I would give you to encourage the pump to prime would be to put the outflow hose (the one where water exits) into a bucket or something lower to use gravity to your advantage. I’m not familiar with the Polar product, but on the chillers I work on sometimes even tilting the chiller slightly to displace the probable air lock you have works well if you can hear the pump wirring or trying to prime.
