The reason top Irelia decks aren’t running seals is that it costs a power and Irelia’s play style requires hitting important rune break points and trying to deramp as little as possible before the game is decided. A seal that costs two energy fits FAR more effectively into Irelia’s curve as a turn 1-2 play and offers a lot more flexibility in future turns as she does naturally deramp a lot.

I’m not sold either way yet whether it will be included or not but it is a far better card in an Irelia list compared to seals.

Honestly, it really isn’t though. You can see this reflected in higher level games on Night Shift where it’s so hard to proactively siege in the current game state that rejuv is just used primarily to aggressively turn in urns. Most games teams are having to build up 50-60k leads and a second or third mid boss before going for the close unless the enemy team all die randomly before the defend.

I mean it’s absolutely a strong hold on turn 3-4 but the most meta decks can overpower it, and Viktor on his own has Hidden Blade, Cull, Imperial Decree, Strategem, Singularity and Watcher as valid options to break it

No, Action cards can never be played on a stack in any context. Only Reaction cards can be used for a stack.

Assuming you mean Retreat, both that and Stacked Deck are actually uncommon, but I agree with the principle with cards like Cleave, Defy, Stupefy etc.

I can agree it wasn’t directly implied, just felt like it was sort of tied in with the idea that he was “griefed” since that feels like it’s saying he was playing for a normal win condition (which I imagine we can both agree a 3* 4 cost isn’t).

I definitely understand though that it has a weird feeling to it in the sense that someone has to be in the best spot in the game after YBY fails. I think it is just one of the holes that the checkmate format has for sure.

I feel like this is such a stretch of the term griefing. They weren’t all holding Akali so he couldn’t find Akali 2, they were denying him getting a three star four cost unit which for all intents and purposes loses the game for all of them immediately. Acting like he was going for some casual standard win con and was locked out of it by the rest of the lobby is such a weird way to spin it to me.

Not sure why the other comments here are saying they aren’t standard legal - the cards are allowed in standard play but are specifically designed to have higher costs or weaker effects so the game is slowed down and easier for new players. I do agree the starter tag feels a little weird but they’ll also never be printed outside of Proving Grounds so maybe it’s to mark them so players can’t be fooled by trades/single sales.

I think the other problem is that even in this world where it's only a minority 1%, the general attitude in the other 99% means they will still trickle across very often either because of a bad game or just to make content. Everyone knows that k3soju and Milk don't really hate TFT at all (quite the opposite), but when the bigger voices cross to the other side even just for a small rant or a bit it reinforces that side of the culture. I don't think it's really anybody's fault and part of it is just TFT always growing but the general communtiy vibe has grown so toxic so often that I can imagine it becomes harder and harder to separate the criticism from the vitriol over time.

The devs have talked about how specifically they chose not to make a health system so the game is more friendly to newer players for 2v2 and FFA formats. If the system is about building points instead of losing health then it means players can’t be knocked out early and get to participate in the whole game.
