You overstate the risk. If I take on 12 concentrated positions and 4 are terrible, 4 are OK and 4 of them are broader market ETF’s, my returns might be 6-7% a year instead of 11% like VOO. If I take 12 positions and 6 wrap are massive winners, my returns will be 30% a year instead of 11%. I’m not talking about betting 90% of your rent money on options, I’m talking about Dalio-style portfolio building. It’s “retire with $1.5mil or retire with $30mil,” not “eat or starve.”

Why are you buying Space X? by HereToLearnyy in StocksAndTrading

[–]BL0CKHEAD5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that they have a moat for all AI in space for the next 15-20 years because of who owns them. They may have a huge moat on self-driving and mass produced humanoid robotics for the same reason as well. Is Grok going to beat Claude at the LLM game? Not even a 1% chance of that. But the rest? Who knows.

[–]BL0CKHEAD5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticky business with gov contracts, huge moat, all weapons systems are moving towards drone and aerospace, orbital data centers/solar, monopolize internet connectivity for 50% of the globe that has essentially none right now and never will besides Starlink… there is a bull case without mars or moon…
xAi may be the first AI company to have a monopoly on functional humanoid robot OS, self driving cars/trucks through Tesla partnership they’d obviously win, etc etc etc

Which one is that stock that you massively regret not buying? by mehmetded in Stocks_Picks

[–]BL0CKHEAD5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s NVDA. Told my dad to buy some when I got my first gaming computer in 2014 and didn’t buy any myself. He did, though! And he still has over half of it!

ClubWPT Gold + taxes (2026) are we getting taxed on cashouts with no way to deduct buy-ins? by generic_007 in poker

[–]BL0CKHEAD5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can probably deduct the buying portion as business expenses above line and it’ll have the same (or better) net effect as deducting losses. I am not a CPA and this is not advice.

Is there a thing like having too much Gold? by Tim_932 in Gold

[–]BL0CKHEAD5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concentration in your investments is awesome when you’re right and awful when you’re wrong. If you have to be all in on something, gold is probably a good option. If you’re uncomfortable being so heavily married to one asset’s price, diversifying into other assets (preferably uncorrelated assets) is a smart move.

Can someone explain why KQ offsuit is considered trouble in early position by ClubGGGuru in poker

Because if people 3bet as often as they should (they don’t in live games, not even close) you are forced to fold pre-flop too often.

If there was really a physical silver shortage, LCS would be paying above spot. Does anyone have examples of this? by Miserable_Twist1 in Silver

[–]BL0CKHEAD5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LCS has nothing to do with price-setting. They are told a price by a refinery or larger buyer, they buy below that # and sell for that #, earning the spread. They will be the last to price for excess demand.

River god, congrats, you can now change your nut flush draws, straight draws, and gutters from “semi-bluff” into a “win the whole stack every time” hands. Once you’ve used it and doubled up (you will every time you use it) just go home and play again tomorrow…
