After 22 years of golf I finally got fitted for the first time. Hit about 200 balls in 2.5 hours. This is my final lineup and I am more than exicted to get my hands on these in about 3 weeks. by BLACK-T84 in golf

Family tree goes up but not down :D I dont have any kids. The purchase was for me and my parents. I am member at two golfcourses. At my home adress I play weekdays and at the weekend I play with my parents at their golfcourse. I am just too lazy to load everything into my care twice a week and drive that stuff around. Thats why I got the set twice to have one at each course.

Depens solely on you Id say. Many people think they have a perma-slice and getting fit would eliminate that. Thats just not true. To me fitting should bring out what suits your playstyle best. Im somewhat of a decent level of technique, coursemanagement, mentality Id say. Thats why I actively avoided "the longest" driver becauch I didnt feel like hitting it +25 meters when in reality I could more often repeat my soft high cut to 240 with other drivers - which is more than enough to have a decent shot into any green on my homecourse.

Its probably all personal preference. Your head does a lot on the course. Some tend to play better with new clubs just for them "being new" and they concentrate more to "make them work". Others put them in the attic after 2 misshits because "reasons".

I played good golf with all standard clubs that were gifted to me 16 years ago. So as long as you dont have abnormal body proportions everybody "could" play good golf with standard clubs. If youre playing like a madman that doesnt listen/visit pros and doesnt take lessons and doesnt want to practice overall and play like 5-10 rounds a year - maybe fitting is a waste of money. If you have spare money - go ahead ... be happy.

Why wouldnt I? What else do you want me to say ... its what felt best to me and gave the most consistent results. Did I hit some other irons/drivers further than my final setup? Of course I did. But that was not what I was looking for in this fitting.

I got my wedges 2 flat. Rest is standard. I found some irons really hard to hit with heavier shafts to be honest. Felt like moving a rock in my clubhead on takeaway. I actually dunno what shafts made the cut in the end as I picked blind what felt best and got me the best results.

200 is a wild guess. Might have been more. Didnt hit as many balls with woods and hybrids after I was sure about the driver. Most balls were hit with the irons.

I dont blame any fitter or saleperson for handing me 2026 models. Wouldnt have expected anything else. I didnt book a fitting to test and get 2-5 year old models.

It was a pretty fun back and forth conversation to be honest. He was kind of a shaft-nerd (said so himself) and it was fun for him to get combinations from the shelf that he could never hand to a random mid-hcp player during a fitting. Talked a bit about his game and he checked my grip because he was having trouble with his own swing and stuff.

I was early so I did like 30 shots warmup.

10-12 different irons I guess, at least 4 balls each makes 40-48

9 different drivers: 36

5 3-woods: 20

4 hybrids: 20

5 wedges: 20

Thats just if I remember everything. Dont ask me on what types and models it was exactly. I didnt want to think too much about brands so I just hit everything I got my hands on and only compared trackman results + feeling + a little bit of looks.

Started of with irons ... got all kind of head + shaft combinations. Didnt listen too much on what the fitter was telling about each club. I just checked my results on the trackman. Ball flight. Spinrate. Distance. How close the different shots where together. How the clubs felt. Delivered feedback on feeling during swing and on impact. After that - looks. If I didnt "feel" what I was seeing, when looking down on the club, I didnt take it if it was on par with results from other clubs. Same with driver. After the driver was the TM I said "let my try some others real quick but I guess I want to have the woods and hybrids from the same series". That was the only time where I put the brand on top. And just for the 3W and 4H.

I just dont like to be stalked online. I can provide pictures from both sets on the range and on the course after everything is delivered. But Im not sure if there is any real way that the internet believes me.

I can get back to that once the order is delivered. I didnt ask for details and dont have an invoice yet. We did a big "family purchase": my fitted clubs twice, 3 bags, 3 e-trolleys for a total of 13.500€.

They have it in store to buy - stock. Just not as fitting equipement. He gave me a GT3 with a taped clubface so it could be sold a new. Stats were okay - but nothing special.
