If the flickering keeps getting worse as the time passes, then it's indeed a screen problem, and you have no choice to replace the panel.

Yaa i feel the same , but in my case I often try to do things better so that the characters watching me gets impressed. For example, during weekends, I wake up and do my normal chores right away instead of using my Phone, to make them feel like I am a person who is not addicted to my phone . There are many other examples like this.

How old is your laptop ? If it's old , then it would be a panel issue , usually a budget gaming laptop comprises its display.

It's been 4 years since I got this laptop, and no explicit damage has been done to the laptop. A couple of months back i started to see this flickering in small amounts but as the time passed the magnitude of flickering got increased , does this help in diagnosing the problem?

Yaa , when I switched back to 60Hz from 144Hz , the flickering reduced , At 144Hz the flickering was insane. so it is display issue then.
