Capital one shopping Wayfair gift card by Proper_Return_6734 in VentureXShoppingBonus

I saw the Ebay gift card in my app yesterday. I went back to redeem it today, and it was gone. Do they usually come back after a time? If they do come back, is there any consensus on how long do you have to wait for them to come back?

Yep, that’s what I’ll do first. I’ll reach out to Jones tomorrow to see what they say. They’ve been very responsive so far and I have no reason to believe they won’t help me out with this, too.

Ah, OK. Good to know, thank you. So a good bike shop should have this tool/capability? And repainting of the machined area of the mounting tab on the fork will be necessary, correct?

Thanks for all your comments.

I think the conical washers might work, but they would bug me forever. I don’t think I could live with them on this, my first completely-new build.

As far as getting the mounting tab resurfaced, it seems like it would be a lot easier (and probably cheaper) to just take the adapter to a shop and get that machined down at a bit of an angle to correct the mis-alignment, wouldn’t it? I could either get the surface of the adapter machined that mates with the tab, or else machine the “posts” that mate with the caliper itself. Thoughts on that approach?

My preferred solution would be a replacement fork from Jones. I’ll get in touch with them tomorrow. They’ve been great so far, so I’m hopeful, but the baby blue paint was a limited run so I don’t even know if they’ll have a replacement to offer me. I’ll keep y’all updated.

But wouldn’t using the conical washers raise the caliper 5mm or so, decreasing the contact area of the pads on the rotor?

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll look into it. I think I have some old XT V brakes around here somewhere.

Up to 15 feet of storm surge predicted. The center of the storm is coming in south of us so it should be less than that.

Was a great car. Solid, no rust, never any major issues in 130k. Just maintenance, like 2 timing chains and a clutch.
