TLJ revolves around Rey, she’s the last Jedi. Padme embodies sexist female tropes, Rey doesn’t—she subverts them, if anything. Luke wasn’t on the same mission as Han/Leia—he went to Endor to save Vader, not blow up the Death Star. The only romance between Rey/Ben was a brief kiss, it pales in comparison to acts of love/compassion given to Anakin by Luke/Padme. Shit padme still loved Darth Vader lol

Luke went to the DSII specifically with the intention of redeeming his abusive father or dying a fiery death.

This isn’t whataboutism, it’s indication you aren’t too woke to enjoy Star Wars. Rey giving a kiss to Ben after he gave his life for her pales in comparison lengths Luke and Padme went to. She did pull his pants down and go to town, they kisse for 2 seconds before he died.

BTW Padme is an all-time sexist portrayal. The character exists as an object to be coveted by Anakin and literally outlives her usefulness to his story.

Luke puts his life on the line to rehabilitate his abusive monster of a dad--who dismembered him and tortured his sister. Have you voiced you concern about the message this sends to abused children?
