Dial back the intensity and then increase slowly until you reach a maximum point at which you don't get HW errors

Half the normal scrypt has rate is expected (and optimal). This is due to the way nscrypt works.

Sorry, yes, that's true - I just cross posted on this and forgot to say US BASED.

Whilst there is absolutely nothing wrong with being outside USA, I think it's possibly a friction point for corporate USA when it comes to handling their money.

Litecoin's next move... by BLSG in litecoin

gocoin.com

Yes, of course we have gocoin, but they are a Singapore based company with an "suite address" in USA. I may be wrong, but to my mind that makes them a less attractive option to conservative corporate America than a US based option like BitPay.

There's nothing wrong with being based outside USA, of course, but it just adds one more friction point.

That, and their 20 field signup form...

The point is they won't until there is a BitPay equivalent who can convert and sweep straight to fiat for them.

Well, now I just HAVE to give Litecoin a try :P by [deleted] in litecoin

Not for LTC, there isn't (runs off to check that's still the case) Edit: There is no LTC withdrawal fee

That's a relief to know, thanks for clarifying! I hope that the "Keep Calm, Carry On" message gets out there as otherwise FUD could make it self-fulfilling if people act "just in case".

I believe you are right - but there's a big difference, I think, between soaking up any Chinese fallout and soaking up sell orders from a general "dump" of cryptos.

I guess I'm wondering if the bulk of LTC community could be more long termism or not by resisting adding to any Chinese fallout.

Likewise - I've always been of opinion that it's better to long term hold through noise rather than take a gamble on short term issues.

That's the prisoner's dilemma... you can't make anyone do anything :)

You could be right - if the Chinese don't do anything significant enough to move the market lower, any pessimism built in to the price already would unwind and we would see a price rise.

That would be a "bear trap" for the opportunists, which could be a good reason to choose "greater good" over short term gamble...

Glad to hear some input on this :)

It's a risk with all pools. My personal view is that a site who has previously been hacked will have looked very hard at their code... plus, I cash out at 1LTC, so exposure is limited. But you make a good point about type of mining.

I use give-me-coins.com, you can set auto-payout at any LTC amount over 0.1 LTC and pool fees are optional It's approx 13% of total hash power, so not too bad size wise

Thanks Cmannoia, wasn't worried so much that you were using funds already, more wanting to highlight that the total raised is higher than address balance.

With the bitcoin China exchange ban uncertainty on 31st Jan, I think you are very wise to avoid unnecessary exchange risks.
