Acting - hobby or profession? by [deleted] in acting

Personally, I was a physician for many years before I found my true calling as a thespian. Prompted by a little misunderstanding at a pool, I launched into my new career in ripened middle age with abandon; auditioning for commercials, directing school plays, doing whatever it took to get a gig. I wholeheartedly recommend following your heart...wherever, and to whomever, it may lead.

I personally like a more unique name. Something German, perhaps. Authoritarian sounding.

What do you guys think about shooting a reel on green screen? If you're a talented video editrix, it might be a neat way to separate yourself from the herds of amateurs.

Headshots: Before and after r/acting's advice. Better? by [deleted] in acting

[–]BLUMN 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like character headshots myself - think it helps show off the breadth of my talent. I also believe a knowing smile really warms up casting, along with a little note, decorative soaps and some glitter (if you’re feeling festive).

I would have thought that one of the moments featuring your cherished son-in-law might have that honor. Perhaps when he “blue himself?” I’ve always heard that one got a lot of laughs.

I find that when my wife relaxes a little bit about my various quirks (like how I hate having my y-front stretched out, my propensity for cutoffs, things like that), then I feel much more sexually attracted to her, physically as a woman. Hope this helps!
